The Week Ahead

We begin the week with a Disseminating Moon that started on Sunday evening.   On May 1, The Sun makes a trine with Pluto.   Our gut tells the truth, we want a practical answer for any question—and under this aspect we find it.

In the middle of the week we go into Last Quarter moon.   During this phase we get trade winds pushing us one more time to look at the seeds we planted on Aries New Moon and are pushed to do actions that tell the universe, “Yeah, those things I put on my treasure Map I really want and let me show you how much I want them because I’m willing to do_____”   Remember Quarter Moons are ‘action’ moons.   We  feel compelled to get off our ass and do something.  Don’t be surprised what you feel like doing later benefits the goals you planted on new moon three weeks ago.

The week ends with a terrific aspect between Mars and Pluto on Sunday 5/5.   Energy and Evolution are working hand in hand.    Deep desires and practical follow through are the hallmark of Mars in Taurus trine Pluto in Cap.

April 28 10:26pm EDT
Disseminating Moon Phase

Focus on:  How are you sharing your knowledge? How are you sharing your inspiration?  How are you sharing your vision?  How are you sharing your spirit and spirituality?  How are you helping build bridges to ‘foreign’ matters?

Special focus:
5/1: Sun/Pluto:  Finding power and putting it into practical use and birthing something beautiful.

Last Quarter Moon Phase
May 2 7:14 EDT

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense.  And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer

God, grant me the Serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change Courage to change the
things I can, and the
Wisdom to know the difference.

Focus on:  What actions can you take that speak to your visions you planted on new moon and how can you surround yourself with like minded people?  How are your friends supporting your dreams?  What are the visions for your friends and are they in alignment for your own dreams and wishes?

Special focus:
5/4: Mercury/Neptune: Thoughts of humanity, kindness and communication love of others.
5/5: Mercury/Saturn: Cold thoughts.   Cold conversation.    Thoughts that aren’t warm and cozy but instead practical.
5/5:  Mars/Pluto:  power meets force and works together.  Energy is redemptive

Talking Money and cycles on Full Moon....

The lunar eclipse in Scorpio compelled me to take a look at Ray Merriman's sight and see what he is looking at for the upcoming months in the financial markets.

Longer-Term Thoughts

Over the past year this column has frequently referred to Jupiter transiting 14-24 degrees of Gemini as a possible correlate to a stock market high, especially as it is occurring under a Uranus-Pluto square aspect. In the past 100 years, this has happened twice, and in both cases (1929 and 1966) the stock market made a new all-time high followed by a severe plunge for the next 1-3 years. Jupiter is now there again, April 12-June 4. With only two cases to go by, we may need to expand that zodiac band by10 degrees either way if in fact there is to be a correlation here. Ten more degrees would take us into July 19, 2013. Either way, we are in the period now for this signature to take effect.

What we haven’t discussed, however, is how Jupiter in mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) has often coincided with a longer-term cycle trough in Silver. This is just one more reason why I think both Silver and Gold have another big rally coming up soon.

There is one more long-term planetary cycle I would like to review this week. It is the Saturn-Neptune waning trine. It takes place three times between October 10, 2012 and July 19, 2013. The second passage is coming up June 11. In other words, this aspect will be stationary and its strongest position June 11 through July 19, but its correlation with a long-term cycle in U.S. stocks can probably occur as much as 6 weeks outside of this time band either way. As written in the Forecast 2013 Book and also Volume 2 of the Stock Market Timing series, “This is one of the most impressive of the Saturn-Neptune series…. six of these seven cycles were greater than 4-year types… Investors can therefore look for a long-term cycle to culminate during the time of this aspect and for prices to reverse sharply for at least 1-2 years afterwards.” We will cover this - and many other long-term planetary cycles – in Course #2 of the Merriman Market Timing Academy that takes place June 15-17. It will be available by webinar or personal attendance to those who want to experience it live.

Scorpio Full Moon - Lunar Eclipse

Full Moon
5 Scorpio 45
Lunar Eclipse
April 26, 2013  3:57pm

Oh, baby are you feeling it?   God knows I am.   When the moon is Scorpio everything is intense.   We aren’t cold—we are frozen.   We aren’t hot-we are on fire.   We don’t feel beige we feel stark white.  We don’t feel grey, we feel black.    Everything is exaggerated,  we  either play hard ball or no ball.   That is moon in Scorpio on a regular day.  Now put that energy on steroids and you get a Scorpio Full Moon Lunar eclipse.

The Sun in Taurus is practical, measured, thoughtful and cautious.  He is telling us to look at our money, look at our properties and look at our values.   What makes us secure or grounded.   But opposite Taurus is the Scorpio Moon.   Scorpio and Taurus both like to set their sights on stuff and gobble it up, the difference is Scorpio always needs to process whatever he gobbles so he can poop it out.  The poop is just as important as the gobble.  Maybe even more.   Taurus on the other hand never poops.  It holds on to stuff way past its usefulness.

On this lunar eclipse, Scorpio will be teaching Taurus the value of releasing so it can be born again.   And Taurus will be teaching Scorpio the value of harnessing his deep emotion to build something good.     Remember, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are the three water signs,  Cancer is the water by the shore,  Pisces is the water in the deep seas,  Scorpio is the water in  a river, expanding and contracting with the seasons.  At times capable of dangerous floods and other times constricted so much that people go to war over it.     With a lunar eclipse Taurus has a bit of the upper hand and he is looking at Scorpio and his powerful river and says, “Let’s build a power plant on you and harness all that energy.”

Use your emotions on the full moon to get powerful work done.

Two weeks ago we set our tone for the next 12 months by building our Treasure Maps.   You put it out there to the universe what you wanted.  Now you are getting help to get what you want by double downing on your emotions.    Remember, I indicated on theNew Moon, that this 28 day Aries lunar cycle has a Viking Warrior in the mix-- Mars.   The Viking is continuing his fight with the Scorpio lunar eclipse, because  a new general has stepped up and shouting orders.   Our leadership will come from our deep powerful emotions.   And for god sakes lets all remember that in order to win the war –you must lose a few battles.

Adding to the energy is Saturn on top of the Lunar eclipse.  Saturn does not waste anything and he hates wasting time.   It is one of my least favorite expressions but Saturn on top of Lunar Eclipse Moon in Scorpio is pounding on the door yelling, “Shit or get off the pot!”

What has come up in the last two weeks?  What emotions are swirling around you?  How are you using it?   Has anything come up that is calling you in a new way?  Are you responding?  Can you be practical about that response?   Can you use it to further your goals you set two weeks ago.  Even if you didn’t make a treasure map look at your calendar for the last two weeks.   What came up?  How does it speak to what you want in the next year?    And if you didn’t make a treasure map, take an orange piece of paper and write down the things you want but write it in an empowered voice.

Instead of writing, “I want a new car”  You will write, “I’m  happy and grateful driving my new car.”    Instead of writing, “I need money” you will write “I’m happy and grateful that I easily attract all the money I need and more so.”
“I want better health” turns into, “I’m happy and grateful for my vibrant health.”
"I want to get out of debt" turns into "I'm happy and grateful that I'm debt free!"

You get the gist.

We are in an important cycle with Uranus and Pluto about to go into another round of revolution versus evolution next month.   We’ll talk more about it on Taurus New moon but in order to turn those corners we are being given the gift of Scorpio Lunar Moon to harness the wealth in our emotions and put it to good use.

If you need an image to get you through, visualize Hoover Dam on the Colorado River.   Tall concrete monolith with generators buried deep in his belly…the water goes through it and electrifies millions and millions of homes.     That is power.

Build your dam and you’ll hear the power humming right away.

The Week Ahead

Well, I think we all agree it is nice to put last week behind us.  Lord, yes.

The sun moved into Taurus on Saturday shifting the energy from fiery to grounded.     Things should slow down.   Yes, we are still in a fiery aries lunar cycle where there is still a focus on independence and new beginnings and as I indicated there is a Viking warrior energy in our midst.  But having the sun and some of the inner planets now moving into Taurus could take the brunt force edge off and it may not be as in-your-face as we have experienced for the last 10 days.   Hope springs eternal, doesn’t it?

We are in still in 1st quarter moon which began on the 18th.
Focus on:  What actions are you taking that speaks to your family?  How are you moving on your roots?  What were you born from and how have you broken free and created your own life?  How can you use your emotions to take you to the next step?

4/21: Mercury/Pluto:  Rigid thoughts,  rough language, harsh or redemptive connections
4/22: Venus/Saturn.  Resources feel limited.  Love feels cold.   Focus on work and projects will be beneficial.

Gibbous Moon
April 22  23 5:03a EDT

Focus on:
What is going on with the details?  You planted seeds on new moon for the changes you want this year how are you doing little things that support those visions?  If you want to lose weight this year, right now what are you eating?  Do the details of your life support the big goals?  Start now.

Special Focus:
4/23 Mercury/Jupiter: optimistic thinking, big thoughts are highlighted.  Big visions and communications.  Reaching new people new styles, new worlds.
4/24: Sun/Neptune: Inspired, creative, gentle,  building humanitarian cause
4/24: Venus/Pluto: access power and resources, breakthroughs in love and money

Full Moon Phase
April 25 3:57pm EDT
5 Scorpio 46
Lunar Eclipse

Focus on:   When you made your treasure map or set your goals on new moon where you ready to jump in full throttle?  What goals need all of your energy?   Not half ass but all of you?   How do you shy away from your power?  How do you sell yourself short?  What are the resources available to you that you have missed?    This is an eclipse so this full moon has a mighty punch.

I will post more on it later this week.

Special focus:
4/26: Mars/Neptune: Actions inspired by spirit.  Putting our faith in our actions.  Putting action in our faith.

Our fiery Aries lunar cycle

Our fiery first week of Aries New Moon.    Last Wednesday (4/10) was New Moon and the chart of the moon was quite intense moon with a lot of warrior energy which  I characterized as Viking.  There was also an explosive element to it with an especially tight aspect to Pluto.

The stock market and commodities certainly felt a Viking plunder this week.  Yikes. No kidding.    The bombings in Boston on Monday at the marathon of course speaks to warrior Mars and destructive Pluto.
Yesterday the senate defeated the gun background check bill which is over 80 percent favored by the American people.  Under other astrological aspect I might say, “Well, that’s that”.   But not with these aspects.   I think this is more of a fuse being lit.     Those who voted No fearful of the NRA may end up paying for it politically later.
And finally last night a large explosion in West Texas shook so strongly it registered 2.2 on the Richter scale.   The number of injured (160) and dead (15) is still growing.

It is my hope that when Mars moves into Taurus this weekend (April 20) things will slow down a bit but as we know the New Moon chart is cast for a 28 day cycle so we are not out of the woods until the next lunar cycle in May.
