This Week Astrology

What’s going on this week?

I know this is the middle of the week and I apologize for not getting this out on Monday (juggling a lot over here) but I figured I would still get the word out.

We are in Disseminating phase.

Mercury of course is turning retrograde on the 28th.   See separate post.

And then on the 29th we move into the last quarter phase of the moon.  Right now we are in Disseminating and it is  the time when we share what we have learned or know.

Focus on:  How are you sharing your education? How are you sharing your philosophy?  How are you sharing your spirit?  How are you sharing your faith?  How is religion or faith important to your independence?

Special focus:
4/26: Venus semisquare Neptune.  Illusion around love. Perhaps deceit around love and money.   Finding faith in love and money can be challenging.
4/28: 1:19pm  Mercury retrograde (see above)

Right about now the new moon where we launched our treasure maps is starting to feel like a jillion years ago, right?

You remember the focus and perhaps frenzy as you rushed to get the map complete and looking exactly they way you wanted it to look so that it reflected what you want for the new year.   But when you think about that period of action it now feels like you traveled so far from that time.  You may even be questioning, what was that all about?  LOL.

Sure, me too.  And I've been doing it for 20 years and I always feel that around the last quarter moon.     But given it is disseminating moon right now I feel inclined to share my wisdom to tell you that your map and the seeds you planted are taking root.   We may not see the green shoots yet but just know things are moving.  On third quarter moon take a moment to look at your map.  Breathe.  And if there are any actions you can take to support what you want (as indicated on your map) take the time do it during third quarter.  Maybe it is a phone call. Or filling out a form.   Or maybe given Mercury will be retrograde it is taking action to RESEARCH what you want.

Anyway, I am keeping a flame out for you to remind you that whatever was your intention on New Moon it is out there doing its thing.  Like a little flame.  Just glowing.

Last Quarter Moon Phase
April 29
11:28pm  EDT

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense.  And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer

God, grant me the Serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change Courage to change the
things I can, and the
Wisdom to know the difference.

Focus on:
What actions are you taking that speak to independence and also connected to like- minded friends?  How do you find people who have enlightened thinking like you?  How are you using technology as you plan for your future goals?

Special focus:
4/29: Venus enters Taurus

Mercury Retrograde

Mercury Retrograde

Oh,  why not?    Saturn is retrograde, Jupiter is retrograde, Mars is retrograde, Pluto is retrograde why not the hell add Mercury retrograde?   Yep, that is what we are doing.

Let’s go over those dates.
April 14th Mercury in shadow (14 Taurus)
April 28, Mercury turns retrograde (23 Taurus)
May 22 Mercury turns direct (14 Taurus)
June 7th Mercury leaves shadow (23 Taurus)

You know the basics about a Mercury retrograde.  Watch your communication.  Think twice before you send that email.   And when I say that email, I mean THAT email.    Research like a crazy person anything that needs more information during a Mercury retrograde.  But try to avoid large purchases or signing important contracts.  And yes, sometimes you do have to do both during a retrograde. But try your best to avoid it.

With Mercury retrograde in Taurus we are going to have a variety of options.  We are going to see where our thinking is stuck and in the mud.  Some of us have thinking that is antiquated, makes no sense for who we are now and what we want for our future.   Do you think it is an accident that we launch our New Moon & Treasure Maps which are focused on the changes we want to make in our life for this year and then two weeks later we get a Mercury retrograde exposing our rigid thinking?   Seriously, how can we accomplish our big goals if our thinking is stuck?   At the same time a Mercury in Taurus retrograde speaks to building things bit by bit by bit.  Thoughts can be measured. Game plans can be mulled.   Taking time on things that are important is highlighted by this retrograde.  And above all ---our thinking can not be rushed.   Let’s slow it all down during the retrograde.    Once we get on the other side of it after May 22 we will be surprised by what we learned and what we accomplished.  And finally one more note, Mercury retrograde in Taurus will highlight our money our properties and things we consider valuable.   Like the Mars retrograde in Scorpio this Mercury retrograde in Taurus with emphasis on money could later serve us when Uranus moves into Taurus.  Luckily in 2017 we will have another round of it so I guess the Universe knows we need a couple hits at that money bat before the world economy goes cuckoo again.

Full Moon in Scorpio

Scorpio Full Moon
April 22, 2016
1:24 am  EDT

I thought a purple moon was fitting.

There are certain new and full moons we have to put in bigger context.   And this is one of those moons.    Right now we have the following planets in retrograde:
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn
Pluto

When a planet goes retrograde in astrological terms it speaks to slowing things down and re-evauating.

With Mars retrograde in Sag & Scorpio we are looking at our crazy opinions and which ones help us or maybe we have out grown.   Plus we look at our resources and money and things that we share with others.   How is that working?

With Jupiter in Virgo retrograde we are dealing with our daily life and daily schedules.  Slowing down our calendars.  Where the hell are we saying yes, "I'll be there"?  Do we really want to be there?  Is it matching our ideals about what we wanted when we made our Treasure Maps?

With Saturn in Sag retrograde we are again looking at our goals and aspirations and saying, "Hmmmm" is that person, commitment, date, responsibility in alignment with my goals?

With Pluto retrograde which happens every year (the other planets do not necessarily do it every year) we are reevaluating our power and what empowers us.  Because it is in Capricorn we are again reflecting on our responsibilities and what we want in our life and future --and what we don't want.  We have crossed the mid way point of Capricorn and I am sure you are feeling Pluto like me--it's quality, Baby.  Not quantity!

So there we are with all these planets in retrograde and we are re-evaluating and reassessing so much and in this context we get the Scorpio Full Moon.   And guess what Scorpio loves?   Death & rebirth.   Yep, Scorpio will cut shit out that no longer works. And by the way, Scorpio rules plumbing.   One pipe takes shit out and another pipe brings in fresh water.    That is the power of  Pluto.  What do you give an eff about?  And what do you not give an eff about?

This full moon could be the exact thing we all need as we get our head on what is important and what is not.    Watch how little you care about stuff this weekend.   Or watch what seems to be important.    Full Moons pull on our emotions.   Saturn and the Venus (Taurus Sun ruler) are in good aspect and it  is a great time to build on the good you have in your life and release the nonsense.

Carry on.

Pluto Retrograde

Pluto Retrograde

Pluto turns retrograde on April 18th and turns direct on September 26th.

Every year, Pluto spends half the year retrograde.  Pluto in Capricorn speaks to evolutionary changes in responsibility.   What are we responsible for?  Who are we responsible for?    The last time Pluto was in Capricorn we had the American Revolution.   Were we responsible to King of England?   Was the crown responsible for us?   The colonists had a dark night of the soul and then they decided to take on the British navy & army.   Wives, children and families were ripped and torn apart while their sons and husbands went to war.  And by the time Pluto moved out of Capricorn the dye was cast.  It is not overstating the impact of Pluto in Capricorn from the 1770s, the world was not the same after it.

I believe the same will be said for our Pluto in Cap.   The world will not be the same when it completes.  We are past the halfway way mark.   This journey began in 2008, right when the economy collapsed.    Pluto moves into Aquarius in 2023 so we have seven more years of processing.   My own gut says a lot of this will have to do with the changing climate.  For sure.  But personally we all need to consider:  How do you conserve (Cap word) your resources?  How do you conserve your energy?  And I’m not talking about the obvious energy like oil.  I’m talking about your personal energy.   How can you put your emotions in a Prius and use less psyche energy?    How are you a good manager?   How do you show amazing discipline?  How do you walk away from status but run for quality?    Where do you need self – control?      During the retrograde the personal work we do with Pluto will be more pronounced especially if you have any planets between 17 – 14 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn.   Are you being a snake and shedding your skin?   Get on with it, people.   It is time.

Astrology this week

This week starts off with Sunday's turnaround by Mars (see other post) then we get Pluto turning around on the 18th.  See separate post.

On the 19th the Sun moves out of feiry Aries and into earth bound Taurus.   Of course, we need the groundedness but the momentum of Aries lunar month is still in play.  Energy is still pushing us forward even if it feels slower now that Mars is retrograde and the Sun in Taurus.

We end the week with the Full Moon in Scorpio.  What needs to die and be reborn?  Don't know?   Take the full moon to figure it out.   See following post.

Gibbous Moon
April 17
10:07pm EDT

Gibbous:
We refine our information.  We pick and choose, we discriminate, and we organize to be ‘Virgo’ like.  We sort through details.  Have we missed something?  How are we sifting through the information?  Go back and make sure something hasn’t been neglected.  Refine our actions.

Focus on:
How are you sifting through information that impacts your schedule and routines?  How are you refining you habits?  How are you refining your diet? How are you refining your health choices?  How are you refining you ability to serve?

Special Focus:
4/18: Pluto retrograde (see separate post)
4/19: Sun enters Taurus
4/19: Venus square Pluto.   Love and power are at odds.  Values and power are odds?  How can you transform so that they are in alignment?

Full Moon Phase
April 22
1:23am EDT
2 Scorpio 30

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us.  There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?

Focus on:   Full Moon in Scorpio.   What needs to die in order for a rebirth? Where are you hanging on too hard and how is impacting your independence or lack of it?  What resources needs to be purged and new ones replaced?

Mars retrograde. That screeching sound is just the brakes

Mars  Retrograde

April 17 8:13am EDT

First of all, let’s get our dates straight.
Feb 17, Mars went into its shadow (23 Scorpio).
April 17 Mars turns retrograde (9 Sag)
May 27 it returns to Scorpio.
June 29th it turns direct (23 Scorpio)
August 2 it returns to Sag
August 22 it moves past the retrograde point (9 Sag)

Mars is normally in a sign for a couple of weeks but when it retrogrades it is in a sign for an eternity.  Case in point when this cycle is over Mars will have been in Scorpio for about 4 months.   Lord.    Mars turns retrograde about every two years and it does not do it quietly.  Ah, no.

In 2012 Mars was retrograde in Virgo.  Oh, god, I remember it well.   In 2014 Mars was retrograde in Libra.   Blech----oh how that was so passive- aggressive-aggressive.

And now we will have the retrograde in Sag/Scorpio.    Mars retrograde slows down our energy.   If we are go-go-going we will find ourselves sit sit sitting.  Basically, it will feel like we have hit the brakes.    It could be because we hit walls.  It could be because we get ourselves in trouble and have to pull it back.  It could just be because we need to slow down to get some perspective.

With Sagittarius there can be an aggression to find truth but we might have to pull it back to see the bigger picture (remember Saturn in Sag who is also about Truth is already retrograde).  When Mars retrogrades back into Scorpio on May 27th we will have an opportunity to look at regeneration, sex, death, taxes, loans and money money money for several months.    I have spoken quite a bit about Uranus moving into Taurus in 2018.  This will impact the world’s economy.   I would highly suggest that we all take the time while Mars is in Scorpio to tidy up any money, properties and resource issues.     Also, Mars in Sag does speak to travel.  Some of you who have not been traveling as much as you wish may finally get energized to get out of the house!   Remember it is going retrograde to get our attention.  So, if you don't exactly travel during the retrograde you could plot  and plan your way to future traveling.

Mars of course is a warrior.   There will be battles.   Depending on which house Mars is traveling in your chart will determine the battle ground. And the battles can be both internal and external.   Of course there could just be slowing down.

1st House:    Battles around independence.  Separating from others.   Showing how you are not the same as others.   Telling the truth by your actions.  Not just words.  Separating for your identity.    Slowing down to separate from nonsense.

2nd house:   Battles around things that you value.   Battles around properties.    Actions that speak to you building something from the ground up.   Battling the hurdles as you build something.   Slowing down to understand the hurdles.

3rd house:   The brain is moving too fast.   Here comes sharp words.   Especially around neighbors and siblings.  Battles around communication.   Struggling to be heard.    Fighting with gossip.   Slowing down to actually hear yourself.  Slowing down to get a bigger vision.

4th house:   Battles in family.  Battles for family.   Fighting for truth with family.  Fighting around resources with family.   Mom is in the sights for the fights.   Slowing down to feel what is right for family.  Slowing down to find your real emotions.   Remember under anger is hurt.  And the antidote for depression is action.

5th house:  Fighting for play.  Battles around creativity.  Having fights to have fun.    Some play fighting.   Fights around love and being in love.   What is your truth about love and creativity?  Now go fight for it.   Slowing down to appreciate the creative process.  Slowing down to feel love.

6th house:   Battling your schedule.  Battling your To-Do list.   Battles around your daily health.    Clearing out clutter.   Especially clutter on your To-Do list.  How much of all that is really important?    Slowing down to figure out what is important and what is true versus what is just OCD.

7th house:   Battles around partnership.   Fighting to be recognized.    Slowing down to figure out what needs to die and be reborn in the relationship.   Slowing down make sure your opinions about relationship does not fly in the face of what is a real relationship.

8th house:  Contract, legal matters,  taxes, death, wills, loans from banks.  Sex.    Joint resources.  All of them could be battle areas.   Slowing down to find your resources and new ways of empowerment.  Battles to let things die so there can be a rebirth or renewal.

9th house:  Battles around traveling. Battles around righteous opinions.  How to separate from opinions that don’t serve you.    Slowing down to hear the truth and tell the truth and when to leave some of the truth behind you and just move to higher ground.

10th house:   Battles around career.  Jockeying for higher position.   Moving up the career path.  Slowing down to find a path that puts you out in the world in a real leadership way.

11th house.   Battles with friends and groups of people.  Fighting for a vision.  Are you and your tribe on the same page?  Slowing down to find your highest ideals.  Slowing down to see if  your tribe is supporting your highest ideals.

12th house.   Battles in the psyche.  Slowing down to hear the negative voices in your head, then battling them.   Actions that support you finding faith.    Battles that help humanity can help self on the path to faith.

It is possible that Mars goes between two houses in your chart.  Meaning it starts the retrograde in let’s say in house 11 and then moves back to 10.  Or it starts in 5 and then goes into 4.   You can go to astro dienst for a free astro chart .    Remember look for the houses in your chart that are between 23 Scorpio and 9 Sagittarius.
