Henry Ford

This week on American Experience, the subject was Henry Ford.   I was riveted by it.  A big idea guy, a producer who never wanted to be a part of the social elite.   He cared about the fellows who could talk machines and he didn't hang out with the elite millionaires.   His good friend was Thomas Edison which was interesting since he was barely educated (8th grade).  He also believed his own press and thought that those who worked for or with him and thought that they should worship at his shrine that he created--they are either worshippers or traitors.  He also knew how to manipulate the press.   And he took much pleasure in making it clear that he was running the show---he was also a major antisemite and god know who else he said awful things about.  Can you see his Sun in Leo oppose his Moon in Aquarius?       Yeah, me too.   Give it a watch.

More on Jupiter

Jupiter has turned itself around and is flying straight.   I gotta tell you as a Sagittarius I woke up and felt Jupiter's shift---immediately.   I'm looking backwards and rethinking some choices.  I'm feeling empowered and confident that I can make needed changes down the road.    In my previous post I put up my own take on Jupiter turn around.

Today I found a really nice write up on Jupiter over at realastrologers and Mars move into Pisces.

Jupiter is waking up, and he’s pretty grumpy. I know how he feels.
As ruler of Sagittarius, Jupiter is said to be in “detriment” in his opposite sign, Gemini. Sagittarius is the seeker who asks the Big Questions in order to find truth with a capital “T.” Gemini is about a lot of information – the more and the more-detailed, the better. For the grand champion of Trivial Pursuit, there’s joy simply in knowing stuff. Better still if it’s trending on Twitter.
Being retrograde in Gemini has been the Big Guy’s worst nightmare. The neurons are firing left and right on information overload, but the left and right sides of the brain aren’t talking to each other. How the hell can you get the big picture if one half can’t or won’t talk to the other?
Apparently, though, Jupiter has been talking to us, and you can listen to himhere. This remarkable recording was made by Thomas Ashcraft, an amateur astronomer in New Mexico. In a post on Space Weather(scroll down about halfway on the page), Aschraft is quoted as saying it felt nice to be bathed in Jupiter’s beams. At the time of his recording, Jupiter was in close conjunction with the Moon – one of the astrological aspects most often associated with good feelings. So, let’s see if I have this right: Planet Jupiter sends radio laser beams to earth that penetrate the bodies of human beings and make them feel good, but there can’t possibly be anything to such a ridiculously superstitious pseudoscience as astrology.

"Oh, Mars....I'm here for you"

I came across a deftly written article about Mars in the 12 signs by Mandi Lockley on her clever blog Astroair Astrology.

At its core, Mandi accurately points out that while Uranus is transiting Aries we have opportunity to activate or at the very least review our natal Mars.   Aries ruling planet is Mars and with Uranus storming through Aries, lets just say our own Mars will get pushed a bit.  It is a  really a thoughtful read.
If you don’t know where your own Mars is located, you can go to astro.com and find out your natal chart for free.

Mars in Aries

If you have Mars in Aries you have a tendency to be competitive, direct and impatient. You like to take the initiative and lead from the front. Decisions are made impulsively and followed up on quickly, often without considering the consequences. You tend to act on hunches, on intuition and while your actions might seem risky and ill considered to more cautious types, they often pan out quite well! If they don’t, then you tend to have the resilience to bounce back quickly and carry on regardless.

Mars in Aries blends well with the energy of Uranus in Aries. Change is in the air and you are ready to dive in head first embrace it with open arms. Uranus awakens your inner warrior and you’ll be un-phased by any obstacle that stands in your way. You’ll probably be more impatient and excitable than usual, so try not to waste a good opportunity by behaving too recklessly. With lots of excess restless energy to burn, taking regular physical exercise is very important during this transit.

At some point over the next seven years, transiting Uranus will conjunct your natal Mars. While the conjunction is active, the Mars in Aries-Uranus in Aries dynamic described above will become more pronounced. Life is about to get exciting, so go for it!

Mars in Taurus

If you have Mars in Taurus you use your energy very steadily and like to take your time over things. This however, makes for incredible stamina. You really can carry on long ......

Go to link for the rest of her article which is in two parts... Mars in Aries through Virgo...part 1.   Libra through Pisces...part 2.

Jupiter turns direct January 30 6:37am EST

Jupiter jumps

On January 30 at 6:37am-- Jupiter who has been retrograde since October will station direct.  When the retrograde began, Jupiter was at 17 degrees Gemini and now here it turns direct at 7 degree.   Practically back at the beginning.  We have had a lot of hot air since Jupiter went into Gemini last summer and we should expect more hot air when it turns direct.  But it is possible we have learned a little during the retrograde period.

Jupiter is the biggest planet and doesn’t do things small.  Jupiter rules laws and Gemini connects dots.   Jupiter also rules teachers and schools and may be part of the reason why Sandy Hook has left a deep mark on the psyche of the world.  Now there is a battle brewing over guns in the USA.   The discourse will be great during Jupiter’s continued movement in Gemini.

Once it turns direct it will begin his final journey through Gemini and then in June he moves into Cancer for an ENTIRELY different experience.  By the way, that’s when the real battle begins.    But in the meantime we owe it to ourselves to make the most out of Jupiter in Gemini.  How are we expanding our connections?  How are we reaching out and meeting new people or putting ourselves in new situations?   How are we expanding our discussions?  How are we expanding our intellect?   Globally, newspapers both print and cyber will be tuned up during Jupiter’s transition.  Gossip is still a high priority for many media outlets and it is hard to imagine that spigot shutting down but next month on the Aquarius New Moon there will be a square between Mars (in Pisces) and Jupiter, which could focus on the destructive side of gossip, religion, zealots and nuts in general.
But back to the rest of us, let’s use Jupiter to our advantage.  Perhaps we reach out to people we never normally reach out to and share some stuff that is going on with us.   We may be surprised what insights we get back that we never considered. That, my friends is the gift of Jupiter.   Go expand your world and get those gifts.

The Week Ahead

The Full phase which started on Saturday will continue through to Wednesday.  As I indicated in an earlier post this is a bumpy full moon due to the aspect with Saturn.   I thought of the chart when I woke up this morning and saw news that of fire in a nightclub in Brazil killed over 200 people.   The moon will shift to Virgo on Monday evening where it will oppose Neptune and Oppose Mars, normally I don't give all the lunar aspects that take place every day, rather I focus on the 8 lunar phases and the aspects of the other planets. But since the full phase is so bumpy, I think we need to look at some of the lunar aspects for the next couple of days.    Monday is very cranky.  A nervous moon sees red (Mars) and is pissed.   A nervous moon feels out of control (Neptune).    The crank continues through Tuesday with tough square with Jupiter and an irritating aspect with Sun.   But luckily there is an empowering aspect with Pluto by the afternoon (EST) and we will feel something evolve.  Something will shift.  And then we get into a supportive aspect from Saturn.

On Wednesday Jupiter turns direct (see following post).  Not a small event.

And later in the day the Sun squares Saturn.  Confidence is shaken, self esteem is weak, Saturn is a cold muther and it is hard to get off the ground.  However, sometimes we need to feel low to get our mojo---think Scarlett O'Hara's famous scene in Gone With The Wind---"As god as my witness I will never go hungry again!"--

And then after all that---we move out of bumpy full phase and go into Disseminating.

January 30 6:49pm EST
Disseminating Moon Phase

Focus on:  What are you sharing with others that speaks to details?  What are you sharing that ties up lose ends?  How are you sharing diet and hygiene information? Who is a leader, expert who is stepping up and giving you guidance on the small things?   Where are you receiving information that builds upon reaching your goals?

On Friday, Feb 1st while we are still under Disseminating phase we have two planets change signs.

2/1: Mars enters Pisces

2/1: Venus enters Aquarius

It is going to be an interesting week.  We have a big job ahead of us.  We can do it, given it is a Capricorn Lunar Phase, we need big weeks like this to get our mojo on.

Prepping for your 2013 Treasure Map

Normally I like to post a reminder about the upcoming Treasure Map on the Capricorn New Moon.  I wasn't able to get it up but at least I'm still getting the reminder up during the waxing capricorn lunar phase.  So, that is good.

Okay so just to remind everyone, the next Treasure Map Moon will be onWednesday April 10 at 5:35am  Eastern time

The 2013 Treasure Map time is three months from now.

As we all know, we take that time to make a Treasure Map, a collage of all the things we want for the new year. Yes, the new year starts in Spring not January.

Anyway, between now and then we take time to clear out clutter and junk. We get rid of stuff that is no longer working in our lives. This includes tangible stuff and non tangible like 'beliefs' "opinions" 'styles" .

We start to clear space so that by the time we get to April 10th we'll be ready to set our course for our future.

For those of you who are still waiting for results for of your 2012 Treasure Map---please know it is still working. I have had years where some of my greatest results did not come until the last couple weeks of the cycle. Don't abandon your 2012 map, just start clearning space for 2012 and don't be surprised if some of 2012 starts to manifest.

Also if you have not looked at your 2012 map lately, pull it out and dust it off.

In the meantime, start to declutter.

By the way, the 2013 Treasure Map is going to be a doozey.  Without going too deep into the astro talk, just let me tell you Mars, the warrior planet, will be all over it.  He means business!
