This Week Astrology

The Full Moon ended on Nov 29 and we are now in Disseminating phase which lasts until the Dec 3.  And then we move into Last Quarter.   These last ten days of Scorpio lunar phase will ask a lot of us.   Remember, this cycle is about letting go.  About letting stuff die.   About endings.  By letting go we can then focus on transformation.   For every death there is a rebirth.   What have you let die since New Moon on November 11?  What is coming up in your psyche that you know should die?   What can you just not do anymore?  Who..What... Can't go on any longer?   There is about ten more days for you to find the courage or find the faith to let go.      See what pops up this week and consider what it would like to just give up and move off.  Not from a broken down victim place but instead from a place of "I'm over with this, I know there has got to be better, I'm done being scared to let this thing die"   Through transformation there is empowerment.

Gemini Full Moon

Gemini Full Moon
November 25 2015
5:44pm EST

3 Gemini 20  Sabian symbol:  Holly And Mistletoe Reawaken Old Memories Of Christmas

3 Sagittarius 20 Sabian symbol: A Little Child Learning To Walk With The Encouragement Of His Parents

A Gemini full moon is  traditionally light and breezy, perhaps full of a few lies, maybe a tad shallow  and a whole lot of ADHD energy.   But god knows it is good for lot of laughs especially with its partner in crime the bigger-than- life Sagittarius.    Gemini full moon is where we ping pong between being the kid in the back of the class passing notes and making fun of the teacher.  To then being the teacher at the front of the class busting the student passing the note.    Back and forth we go from shooting off our mouth like an authority to slinking away in the back of the room pretending we didn’t do anything.
Gemini full moons in short are like every Marx Brothers movie.  Silliness in the middle of something serious and always  poking fun at human nature.

Yes, that is a basic garden variety Gemini Full Moon.

But right now, Earth is not in the garden section of the universe.   Nope.  Instead we are in a bumpy area where Saturn is squaring Neptune.  The last time we had that little zinger was 1998-1999.    And here we are again sixteen years later being challenged in ways we didn’t think were possible.

How are you feeling the tension? The previous post we discussed how Saturn/Neptune feels like a cloud of victimhood covering Earth.
We can’t see our way out of a whole lotta mess.  And sure it is scary.  It doesn’t help that this Gemini Full Moon is in that sweet spot drafting off the energy of the square that is exact on the 26th. Lucky us.

Bottom line is nervous energy abounds.  For those people who are a bit high strung, I don’t know what to tell you except go get some Valerian root or rescue remedy.    Your nerves may be shot during this full moon.
For those of you who are not the nervous Nellie types… you could be righteously digging in on something to steady your nerves whether you know it or not.   I would be very careful about that big ass opinion by the way.    As comforting as you find your indignation it could be cutting you off from real connections with others.    Religious zealots could be crazier than usual and bring out the worst in all of us.

The full moon is a three- day cycle and with this particular chart we have Mercury and Saturn influencing the Sun and the Moon.    Our brains feel stretched.    Sometimes when we are stretched we mentally go some place that makes things feel all right.  The problem is that mental vacation is not working now.   In general things that used to work for our brain may not feel satisfying.

What do we do?  The answer is to get right down to the basics and be practical (Saturn).  What do you need right now?  That is the question many of us will ask of ourselves for three days.  Maybe it is a nap?  Maybe it is a quiet moment. Maybe it is a sweet snack.  Maybe it is three-minute call with someone sane.
Whatever it is—just do it.   Be practical about shit.  That is where  you will find liberation.  Don’t go off in some kind of mental masturbation where you are thinking about a future scenario three months from now or a year from now or ten years from now. Stop it.    Instead go to the here and now and think about practical solutions to ---anything.

Pisces and Sagittarius (Neptune and Saturn) speak of faith.  One is blind trust – Pisces.  One is experiential faith, “I swear I prayed for it and it showed up”—Sagittarius.      How do we find faith when things feel surreal?

Questions to ponder…
Where do my thoughts take me when I get nervous?
Where is my inner teacher?
Where is my inner guidance?
Where is my inner guru?
When do I need to talk to someone just for two minutes?
How do I find relief mentally?
Is there a new way to find relief?
What makes me laugh?
Who can make me laugh when things feel lame?
Who can remind me there is a pony under all that shit?
What is just super silly and how can I be rescued by it?

Watch what comes up and remember…..we’re all in this Jean Paul Sartre novel together.

Find the humor if you can.  Or just find your neighbor or sibling and chat. That will help.

Saturn Neptune

This write up about Saturn/Neptune is from my New Moon article which was written about five days before the Paris terrorist attack.

On November 26 Saturn will square Neptune for the first time (7 degrees).    The next square will take place on June 17, 2016  (12 degrees) and the final square will take place September 10, 2016 (10 degrees).   This is a long year.  I started talking about Saturn in Sagittarius Square Neptune in Pisces earlier this year and that there may be some crisis in faith for a lot of people.    Now here we are at the first aspect.    Okay, first order of business is look at your chart.   If you have any planet at 7, 12 and 10 degrees Pisces (or in between), Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius----well, you don’t need me to tell you but you are already feeling like you are being drilled.    For the rest of us, many are feeling our faith being tested, our visions being thwarted or our dreams fading.   “What does my future look like?”  That is the question many of us are asking.   This is of course not a new question but right now it feels different.   If before we were able to reply, “Oh, I dunno but it will be okay.”  Now we are not trusting the ‘okay’ like we did in the past.

I don’t usually spend a lot of time talking about my own chart in these monthly reports but I would like to share that I have Saturn in Sagittarius.   I’m about to enter my second Saturn return so I’m probably a bit more aware of the power of this aspect than others.   Actually my whole little tribe of people born between 1956-1959  is very in tune and perhaps will be able to offer some guidance.   Those of us with Saturn in Sag are here to teach.   We are not necessarily teachers in our careers but our archetype is teacher, philosopher, humorist, visionary and adventure guide.  But we didn’t get to our position by waking up one day and god tapped us on the shoulder like a fairy godmother and presto we suddenly have insights.  Hell no.  Any insights we got came from a lot of hard work and a lot of stupid mistakes.  Let me raise my hand on that one!   But now we are in our mid to late 50’s and we find ourselves in the astro news because Saturn is in Sag again and it is poking Neptune in Pisces.    So, we better find our mojo and bring our insights out and be supportive when asked and maybe even when not asked.

So what does it all mean?   There is not an astrologer on this planet who has not watched those Syrian refugees on boats washing up on shore in Greece or Macedonia or wherever they are landing and has not thought about Saturn Sag square Neptune Pisces.  Long travels (Sag) on the sea (Neptune) by victims (Pisces) of a harsh (Saturn) regime.  And all of us feel helpless to remedy the situation (Square).   Remember we have been building to this aspect for months and months.   And when that dead little boy landed on shore and the photo went around the world faster than the speed of light, I know I thought—
“Oh, Saturn square Neptune.”

We still do not have the answer to the Syrian problem but my gut says that the news reports will activate a person or people or country or something and from that will be born a solution.   I do think it is interesting that this Saturn/Neptune cycle we now are experiencing ties back to 1989-1990 when Saturn conjunct Neptune.   That was the same period that the Soviet Union broke up.    And here we are with Putin backing Bachar Al Assad of Syria.   Also and I don’t want to bog this down with too much world news astro stuff but for those people who are paying attention, Assad was born in 1965 during the Uranus/Pluto Virgo conjunction.  I invite you to look at his chart and note his Virgo Sun oppose his Moon in Pisces and think about Saturn/Neptune today.     Anyway, this year’s aspect is also tying back to 1998-1999 at the first set of squares.   Then the opposition between 2005-2008 and now we are experiencing the final set of squares.  Ask yourself what was going on with you around any of those dates.

But at the core of the square we should be asking…..What is our faith?  What is our religion telling us?  What is our spirituality telling us?  Where do we need to get some perspective?  Where do we need to broaden our view?   How are we getting quiet and asking god for answers?  Can we hear the answers?    Maybe we can ask someone for help.   And yes, my little tribe of Saturn in Sag may be helpful on man to man combat.  Meaning you may find yourself bumping into us and asking for insight.   Or perhaps the group just after me, (born 1985-1989) is going to offer some hard concrete answers in between their own crisis of faith.   Maybe we are all going to have one Giant Twelve Step meeting across the world and support one another by sharing our own flaws.    I dunno.  All I know is that if you are feeling like you are losing your shit get quiet, find your faith, and if you can’t then reach out and see if there is someone with a little more faith in you (than you) and ask them to tell you what they see.

Again we are in this window for the next year punctuated by the exact dates (November 26, June 17, September 10).

Astrology This Week

This week is punctuated with Saturn square Neptune on Nov 26.   I don’t know what I can say that you aren’t already feeling.   I guess for people who are getting married, having a baby or experiencing a big career move…you guys are probably super happy, despite Saturn and Neptune.  Good for you.  Now for the rest of us….   Let’s all just take some valium and try to get through it.   Yeah, it is rough.    See the separate post on Saturn Square Neptune.  But just know you aren’t going crazy…we’re in a cold ass astro time.

Other aspect that have got our attention is Venus opposing Uranus.  “Hey, who took my wallet?”  “Hey, who took my husband”  “Hey, who took my collagen?”

We end the week with Chiron finally turning direct after five months of retrograde in 18 Pisces.    Perhaps we can take a break of beating ourselves up?   Lord let it be so.
