Capricorn New Moon

As many of you know, I generate a New Moon article once a month. It covers the 28 day lunar cycle. From New Moon, Crescent, 1/4, Gibbous, Full, Disseminating, 3/4 and balsamic . All 8 phases and everything important in between.

This NEW MOON in Capricorn is very powerful. To say the least. When you have a conjunction between Moon/Sun/Mars & Pluto, well that is no day at the beach. More like a day on a mountain, a volcanic mountain!

My full article can be found on Margaret Wendt's website: Here.

During this Capricorn New Moon; The Sun, Moon, Mars and Pluto are all
within six degrees of each other and not in that Kevin Bacon way, in astrology,
six degrees is on top of one another, literally. So, when one of the
planets speaks to us, all four will be in the mix. The Sun is focused on
our soul, the Moon our emotions, Mars our actions and Pluto our Power.
And each one of them is beating one drum asking “IS THERE ADULT IN THE
HOUSE?” And during this lunar phase that adult had better be you.
Consider our inner teenager dead. Luckily, Capricorn has a
great sense of humor, it may be gallows humor but it is still funny. So,
bury your inner teen and bring out your inner Noel Coward, at least you can
laugh a lot for the next twenty eight days.

December 22--Tick Tock, Karma Clock is Dinging

(This is from my New Moon article which you can find here.)

Crack any basic astrology book and they will tell you that Capricorn and Saturn are the Karma sign and planet. Where ever Saturn is located in your chart is usually an area that has more importance to you but in a weird twisted way. You see it is actually where we feel our most insecure. So insecure that you actually may talk about it with people. It is a weak spot. But out of that weakness you build and build upon it. Kind of like an athlete with an atrophied leg. He’ll exercise it, put weights on it, push it and stretch it so much that it will become his strongest asset. Well, that is Saturn and Capricorn.

As we have already discussed, Saturn is in opposition to Uranus and so you know Uranus is pointing out our issues to us, “Hey, what’s going on with that skinny leg?” And at the same time, Pluto in Capricorn is also pointing out our weakness. “Hey, how long have you been walking around with limp? Between the two of them, we are really learning what the hell we need to fix. And yes, it might hurt but why don’t you just cut to the chase and tell yourself, “Gee, I know this is a bitch, but I planned this lifetime to deal with it, so as god as my witness I will take care of it now and I’ll stop bitching about it. This is my karma.” Why am I talking so much about Cap in this Sag cycle? Because it is during Sag lunar cycle, that Pluto is going to conjuct the Sun in Cap. For the last 14 years Pluto and the Sun have been conjuncting in Sag. But now we have a new wave of energy. On December 22 the two of them will join up in Capricorn for the first time in over 200 years and they will continue this dance once a year until 2023. So, if you want to get the flavor of what needs your attention, watch and see if anything comes up around that date. It might not be anything dramatic, it could be subterranean, but see if you get a vibe on it. And if you do, don’t dismiss it! Take note, it will probably be important later and be something that will have more of your attention as we slog through to 2023.

WELCOME WINTER SOLSTICE

And so it is, the first day of Winter begins today at 7:03am (EST). A journey that started in June when each day the light shortened by a smidge has ended. Tonight the sun will set at its earliest and the cold night air will be the longest. For many people it is simply a line on their calendar “Winter begins”. But the truth is that the traditions around this event are broader in scope and weight than almost any event in history. All of the ancient peoples from all over the world have their traditions for this astronomical event. The Celts, The Hindus, The Mayan, The Kurds, Vikings, Japanese, Mali, Slovaks –the list is endless. But for most of them the theme is always the same, “Let’s celebrate and party likes it is 1999 and hope and pray we don’t die in Winter!”

These celebrations in my mind are far greater than the companion holiday in June, The Summer Solstice. But then I have a strong Saturn in my chart so I am more about the hard work in front of us than “Wee—let’s get naked in the Summer sun”. Astrologically this is the first day of Capricorn. All babies born right now will have their Sun in Capricorn. Such serious little souls, longing for responsibility right from the start. It is often said of Caps that they are born about 100 and each year they get younger. A 25 year old Cap is equal to a 75 year old of any other sign! Hard work and discipline are the magic elixir of their lives. But of course, of all babies born at this time of year the one who gets the most attention is Jesus Christ. Despite the fact that most scholars agree that his birth probably did not take place on December 25 it is interesting that the celebration for his birth is tied to the Pagan Winter Solstice. Belief in Him, brings salvation. “That will get us through the Winter!”

Whatever anyone believes Pagan, Christian, Hindu, Muslim and the whole world in between, I strongly encourage everyone to take a moment today and give thanks and gratitude. Release doubts for just a moment. Hold on to the thought, “There is a greater truth than any small effect.” And, “It will all work out okay.”

Give yourself the gift of hope! After all, if the ancients could find hope---so can you!

If it Bleeds it Leads

The Federal Reserve dropped the rate from Zero to .25. These continue to be extraordinary times.

The central bank cut its target for the federal funds rate, at which banks
lend to each other, from 1 percent to a target range of 0 percent to 0.25
percent, the lowest rate on record. Although the Fed has no more room to reduce
the interest rate -- it has been cut 10 times in 15 months -- the bank's leaders
said in a statement that they would use "all available tools" to bolster the
economy.

But do yourself a real favor and go back and read Bill Meridian's piece on the chart of The Federal Reserve. And after you read it and figure out where transiting Pluto is in that chart, well, I'm sure you'll go out and buy gold or earplugs because the sound of printing that kind of money will be defeaning.

MadOff with the Cash

Bernard Madoff

Even if a person only knew a tiny bit about astrology, they would know that Bernard Madoff is a poster boy for PLUTO in CAPRICORN.

I am not saying that Bernie Madoff has Pluto in Capricorn. That is impossible since the only people alive with Pluto in Capricorn are 3 weeks old or less. No, what I am suggesting is that the fall of Mr. Madoff is perfect for this new climate of Pluto in Capricorn.

Remember Pluto moved into Capricorn the last week of November and it will remain in Capricorn until 2023. But as I mentioned before, when Pluto changes signs-- watch out, because it knows how to get our attention. One week after it went into Sag we got the OJ trial. And yes, this is a bit slower, but two weeks after it went into Capricorn we got Bernie Madoff. It is my opinion that Madoff will be the first of many to fall in front of our eyes for the next dozen years.

They will not all be part of a high stake Ponzi scheme but they will all be frauds. This is the curse or the blessing of Pluto as it moves through a sign. It will find the weakest link of any chain and it will destroy it and certainly frauds are an acutely soft metal. Apply a bit of pressure and they snap.

It turns out Madoff was turned in by his sons, well, maybe not exactly turned in by them but apparently he told his sons that he had defrauded their clients and then they told their lawyer who then turned in the dad. It is enough for this astrologer to scratch her head in bemusement when you consider that we are still experiencing the opposition between Saturn in Virgo and Uranus in Pisces. In the Greek Myth of Saturn and Uranus-- Saturn, the son of Uranus, cut off the ding dongs of Uranus and threw them into the sea. Perhaps, Mr. Madoff would have preferred Mark and Andrew Madoff cutting off his Johnson than dialing their lawyer.

Anyway, the salient point to this discussion is that Pluto destroys anything weak and in this case-- fakes and frauds are weak. And since Pluto is in Capricorn it will be going where Capricorns hang out the most ----that would be the top of the mountain. Expect Pluto to hang out in the top of any field, find the weakness, shake it up and bam, “Landslide ahead!” I expect we will see a lot more people at the “top of their game” come way down to Earth. Unfortunately they will take a lot of innocent bystanders along the way. Yes, some of them will not be as innocent as they appear but many are truly victims. Remember with Saturn in Virgo and Uranus in Pisces--Virgo the planet of hard work and Pisces the sign of altruism. Is it any surprise that many of the injured in the Madoff landslide are hard working charities? Sigh.

Anyway, I would strongly avoid anyone who seems to know it all and have it all figure out. They could be next!

Note to self: Stay low and avoid the Pluto Radar.

IT’S A BIRD, IT’S A PLANE, IT’S SUPERMOON

Back in November I wrote HERE about Supermoons.
This full moon is the final full and Supermoon for 2008 and it is a doozey. (Dec 12 - 15) I am so sorry I could not get it up earlier but I was super swamped. How many times can I have the word Super in one paragraph?

Anyway, we have now been in this full lunar phase for about 20 hours and I am sure you are already feeling it. I know I am!

Most full moons are full of emotion. My own experience is that energies we plant on the new moon can come back for our attention on the full. Especially if we have not paid attention to our actions!! Meaning, two weeks ago when we had the new, (Nov 27-Dec 1) if you were just living your life not paying attention and maybe you got into a fight with a loved one. Perhaps it was a garden variety fight. Just annoyed with something they did or said and you let them know.

Well, when those energies take place on the New one should be prepared that whole 28 day lunar phase is colored by that experience. And if you have not addressed the core of the problem in the last two weeks, you can expect a revisit of those issues (or the roots of the problems) to come up on FULL MOON as there often is an echo on the full moon.

Of course, it is possible that there can be a MakeGood on a full. Maybe something lame happened on new and now you can fix it. Or if you don’t fix it, let’s see if the Universe fixes it.

That is part of the joy (or bummer) of a full moon, the revisit. Now with this full moon we have got a lot of energies in the mix. In particular, Saturn, the dad planet is still digging in with Uranus the rebel planet and the two of them are digging in with Mars the warrior and Moon the Emotions and Sun the soul.

It is no surprise to me that The Bailout for the automakers did not pass congress. Union workers, Congress, Auto Executives, The American people’s emotional/financial exhaustion and a need for a breakthrough are all manifested by Mars, Moon, Sun, Uranus. The one curious aspect is that as of this writing, the White House is considering stepping in to help. And that would of course be Saturn. (Although, Saturn helping usually comes with some LONG strings.) And considering, we are going to have the next pass of Saturn/Uranus exactly opposite in Feb, I think we are not done with this paradigm. Right now, Autoworkers, who will it be in January and Feb?

And how are people in their personal lives feeling this Moon? Well, if you know your chart, I would suggest you see which house has Gemini and expect some energy there. If you have Gemini on your 7th, then your relationships might be feeling a bit like the Auto Industry. Tensions, clarifying, tensions, it all is up for resolution. Gemini in the 8th house, holy moly, your finances are probably going through a number. Including maybe some tax stuff. And Gemini on the 11th house would bring a myriad of issues socially speaking. Probably, associates and friends demanding so much of your attention that it is like squeezing blood from a turnip.

I would tell everyone to hold their tongues (especially since this is a Gemini Moon) and watch their energies but there is a part of me that thinks, perhaps you are not suppose to hold your tongues. Maybe you need this full lunar phase to speak about what you need which will then help Uranus to break some new ground. Perhaps, but just remember, once this phase is over we will still be dealing with Saturn/Uranus aspects, so you can have some other opportunities for change and restructure.

Curiously, my husband mentioned he heard some kind of scientist predicted a large earthquake for this weekend. When I asked him and where, he told me he could not remembered and then went to sleep. I don’t know what any of that means but I did note, “Hmm, Supermoon, maybe?”

Happy Birthday, Guadalupe--You look hot for 367!

Happy Birthday, Virgin!
I am not Catholic but I have a lot of Catholics in my family tree. They are buried all over the midwest after a bunch of them left Ireland in the 1850's and headed for Iowa after a stupid potato blight. And a bunch of them left Germany/Prussia and headed for Iowa after a conscription edict from a stupid Kaiser. Ah, stupid wars and stupid potatoes---that's what brought my people here!
Anyway, I have a lot of Catholic genes in my blood so I am a sucker for some good Catholic stories. I love Father Padre Pio---anyone who levitates ten thousand feet above a monastary and protects it from bombers hell bent on destroying it during WWII is my kind of priest!
But the other great Catholic who I dig the best is Virgin Guadalupe. It could be due to my living in California and her image is everywhere. (She really is the Patron Saint for North America.) But, also I like her for showing up with the roses, for talking to the Juan Diego a peasant farmer in Mexico City and I like her because she has the same birthday as me.
If you are interested in her story and more importantly if you are curious about her natal chart, take a look at this article by Louis Lesur who discusses in quite detail the astrology of her history. A very good read.

The Virgin of Guadalupe
The Astrology of a National Symbolby Luis Lesur
The Virgin of Guadalupe is the female face of the divine who has the most followers in the Western world. Her shrine in Mexico City receives 20 million visitors per year, many more than Fátima (Portugal) or Lourdes (France). Only St. Peter's Basilica in Rome receives more pilgrims in the Catholic tradition. The Virgin stands in the main altar of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York (on the right-hand side), and in Nôtre Dame in Paris, she is granted her own chapel. In Mexico, where the Virgin of Guadalupe originated,
(1) and especially among the millions of Mexicans who live in the United States, she is — even more than the Mexican flag — the most beloved emblem of national identity. This applies even to non-Catholics.
Could astrology help us to understand what lies behind the huge popularity of the Virgin of Guadalupe? Is it possible to get a meaningful horoscope from a legend? In the following discussion, I will sketch out some ideas from my book, The Secret Codes to the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Jay Leno's big surprise

NBC picks Jay Leno for 5 nights a week at 10pm.

In what can only be described as one hell of a bold move by a television network, Jay Leno who is on the cusp of handing over the "Tonight Show" to Conan O'Brien has been offered Prime Time.
Yep, he is leaving late night but he is not leaving NBC, he is heading for Primetime. It will be 10pm --Monday through Friday for the 58 year old Taurus. This is an extraordinary offer and apparently extraordinary acceptance. If what the NY Times writes is true (yes, I said, "if") Jeff Zucker had offered something equally astonishing to Dave Letterman in 2002 but apparently Dave declined. Of course, 2002 and 2008 are two completely different years in one helluva strange decade. But the bottom line is that Jay Leno said "Yes."
I have drafted a chart on Jay based on Natori Moore's article which indicated Lois Rodden's data-- Using a Tropical Chart----Jay has Aquarius Rising, Sun in Taurus and Moon in Virgo.
Love of work is clearly indicated by the Moon in Virgo conjunct Saturn in Virgo in the 7th. Yes, he is married and has been for a very long time and not prone to fickle attentions--again Saturn/Moon Virgo. But certainly he is well known his other love----WORK and DRIVE and definitely DEDICATION to his job. Without going into all the details about what makes him tick-- love of cars, Mars conjunct Moon...blah, blah, it is more interesting to note the transiting planets at this time.
The announcement of this deal, (which my belief is something that was locked in the last couple of days) we see that Pluto in Capricorn has just left his 10th house on December 5. How interesting if you think about it. Many critics and entertainment reporters have been discussing the death of Jay's life with the passing of the Tonight Show. It seemed to be premature death given his ratings were stronger than ever. Put still there seemed to be a ping ponging of reports from death to resurrection whenever pundits reported on "What is Jay going to do?" Many said, "Is this it for him?" Other said, "NBC screwed up" by giving it to Conan too early. Others suggested he was about one minute from taking his power to ABC. The bottom line is that it was all so Pluto. Death and rebirth and power---all Pluto words...everywhere.
But there was little talk about "Hey let's put him on Primetime five nights a week." That was bold and unusual and that is much more 11th house than 10th house. So, yes, while Pluto wrapped up its time in his 10th it picked on his carcass but by the time it made the move to 11, it is a whole new day for Jay. 11th house is a new group of people. Perhaps a new audience.
And of course, while Pluto begins its long march in Capricorn it is building towards a grand trine with his Sun in Taurus and his Moon in Virgo. But first things first it had to get into Cap which it did (Thanksgiving week) and rang the bell of his chart. Transiting Pluto is also opposing his Uranus in Cancer. But that is a generational aspect meaning anyone born a year or so before and after him is getting this aspect. It is one of the mid life crisis, although I don't know if 59 can be called Midlife, anywway it is taking place in his 5th (entertainment) house and 11th (group & associations). Will he fit with this new crowd?
Also Saturn is opposing his Venus and since Venus is in his first house this involves his basic identity. Wanting to be liked is clear for those with Venus in the first. Saturn in the 7th house of open enemies suggests to me there will be some people who will be very vocal about their distaste for Jay and this deal. And it might come at a cost to him when it is pointed out over and over again that the only reason why he was given this deal was because he was the cheapest show around. Do you really feel good about yourself when you are told over and over again, "We like you because you don't cost us much" ? This Saturn aspect will last through next summer so he's going to have to toughen up--ah, how Saturn.
Additionally, Uranus has been driving back and forth over his Venus and will continue to do so through the end of December of 2009. Venus rules values so it will be interesting to see how he is valued or devalued. Uranus is unusual so it can't be predicted. Nor how he personalizes it. At the same time transiting Neptune has been back and forth around his Ascendent since early 2008 and will continue to go back and forth through 2009. This tells me that we can not possibly predict how this deal is going to work out for him. There will be some changing opinions as Neptune dissolves everything when it crosses his Ascendent but also Neptune builds up gossamer wings right after it dissolves. He will continue to be an enigma.
The bottom line is that Jay's Taurus Sun is pretty hard to bet against. Even the 'smartest' pundits in the world have been proven wrong by Jay. And given that Pluto's trek through Capricorn will build towards a Grand Trine between his Moon in Virgo and his Sun in Taurus, tells me that there is a lot there for him to accomplish and with Pluto's energy , he will have a great deal of support.
Of course there is more to his chart but that is a few notes at first blush.

Canada Moms

Showcasing the Canada Moms

I think you can blame my Sag Sun with my Moon in Cancer but I do have a special place in my international heart for Canada Moms...it might also have to do with the fact that I live in a warm climate and grow concerned when it is super cold up north.

I want to put it out there that that MomsInNeed (see previous post) in Canada are really in a tight spot. If some of you could at least check out this link and see if you could help, it would be appreciated.
I found out from the team that they are in a tough spot with helpers and really need some people to do what they can. One gift card can go a long way. And if you are not in Canada consider a small paypal donation. That will really help.

Just a little Holiday Note

I hope I speak to your HEART...

..and this is not exactly Astrological in nature but I'm sure it has something to do with the transiting Moon in Aries crossing into my first house.....I wanted to share something personal with all of you.

Every year in December, I comb through my house and look for old gift cards. Usually they are crammed in that one drawer where I keep all the goofy things---like the post card of a cactus driving a convertible from my friend in Arizona or the Susan B. Anthony silver dollar ( is it $2?) and the torn up photo from son's preK class (he tried scissors for the first time) ---that is the drawer where I keep the gift cards. Anyway, this is the time of the year I go through that drawer and find the cards I have not used.
Then I go to my favorite website which has a whole bunch of Moms In Need. These moms are just regular people who are in a tight spot. Real tight. Some of them are single moms but honestly a lot are married but are just all in tough spots financially speaking. Some need help with groceries and some need clothes and some just need a little toy to help. Tonight I found a couple of gift cards to Barnes and Noble that still have value on them. I went to the site and found three moms who would benefit by the cards. I sent an email to the facilitator she sent me the addresses and I popped them into envelopes, stamped them and they are off in tomorrow's mail. The cards totaled less than $100 but they will go a lot further with these moms then they will sitting in my drawer collecting dust.

If you would like to see who are some of these moms, then go here to MDC Helper Moms....
Read a couple of the stories. And then be like me and go to your gift card area and see what you have sitting around. Then consider mailing one of them (or more) to one of these moms.
It will make you feel so good. And in the spirit of Sag Lunar Cycle isn't that the good side of Sag?!

Do it for me. Please. It is my birthday this week. Make me feel special...considering how old I am!!!!

Tragedy in Mumbai---Pluto in Sag, last blast

Mumbai Terrorist Attacks

Last week I was traveling and had very limited internet time and even less time to watch TV. When I learned of the attacks in Mumbai it was several hours after the event had transpired and I was a little fuzzy about the time difference between the US and India. But despite my fuzzy feeling I was struck by one thought, “Gee, it feels so Pluto in Sag, NOT Pluto in Cap.” I said that knowing Pluto moved into Capricorn on the 26th. However that is the 26th ….in the Americas. It was on the 27th for the rest of the world. So, that meant that the attack did occur while Pluto was still in Sag. From various reports it appears the gun men entered Cafe Leopold around 9:30pm local on the 26th. Drafting that chart we see Pluto was at 29 degrees 59 minutes Sag. Truly, it was the last minute (of arc) of Sag.

The Sag explains the International city, international crowd—many of them tourists. The targeting of Americans, British and Jews can be also be explained by the xenophobia which also goes hand in hand with racism and zealotry (more bad Sag stuff).

Added to this energy was the fact that the Moon was in Scorpio, which is dark and secretive and hides things well and in fact it took several days to learn who may be responsible for this gross event. As of this writing, it appears to be some fringe extreme Islamists from Pakistan. Which to me falls under the category, “Been there, done that---Pluto in Sag”. Sigh.

One thing that I did note with the chart (Placidus) is the Cancer Rising. The first attack occurred in a restaurant (food—Cancer) and there has been much emphasis on the Sandra Samuel, the nanny who protected and saved the little boy whose parents were murdered. The Cancerian need to protect clearly emphasized. Added to it, is the emphasis of FAMILY, which is colored by the Scorpio Moon in the 4th house. Moshe the child who lost his parents was flown to Israel where he attended a state funeral for his parents. During the funeral we learned that Moshe’s mom was pregnant. Again, more Cancerian energy. Sandra was also taken to Israel where she was recognized for her heroism and embraced by the whole country as 'family'. Which I am strangely reminded of Elian Gonzales who wound up on Florida shores and embraced many (certainly Florida) by family ( 1999--Pluto's mid trek in Sag).

Sadly, also killed in the event was Vedic Astrologer, Alan Sherr who was attending a spiritual conference by the Synchronicity Foundation. Adding more family into the mix and pain---his 13 year old daughter, Naomi was with him and also murdered.

When you look at the event and see Pluto in the 6th house, we can see the tie to Moshe’s parents who worked for Chabad House which serves a whole community. And then Uranus in Pisces in the 9th makes perfect sense for the spiritual retreat Alan and Naomi were attending.

What still is confusing to me is the motive for the event? I blame Moon Square Neptune. Which can explain why things are still unclear and also that the motives are most likely delusional. There is more to the chart but that is my first thoughts.

Great Read----2009's Wild Ride, Earth & Taurus

I am confident there are many people familiar with Mountain Astrologer magazine. But if you are not or if you are running around so much right now and have not picked up the latest issue...let me implore you to get it immediately. There is a great article by Adrian Ross Duncan about the bumpy year that will be 2009. Yes, we all know the rough aspects and eclipses that riddle 2009...but reading his take on the death blow to capitalism is like watching a train wreck. You can't stop yourself from reading it.

Additionally, there is a very thoughtful and provocative piece written by Cynthia Wood making a case for Taurus' missing planet. Currently there are 10 planets and 12 signs. Each planet gets one sign. Except for 2. Venus rules Taurus and Libra and Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo. For years astrologers have had many opinions on this situation but I don't think even one Astrologer has felt confident about four signs sharing two planets. I know it always rubbed me wrong. But never have I read anyone offer up a satisfying solution until Wood's article. She makes a great case that Earth is the missing planet for Taurus. Her suggestions for why it makes sense are richly researched and when you place Earth in your own chart you will see how her case makes even more sense. I, for what it is worth, have Earth in the 3rd house. And frankly, it makes sense for me. Probably part of the reason why I have this blog! By the way, if you don't know where to put Earth, it is opposite your sun.

Anyway, get the magazine and read these articles plus the others. Truly one of the best astrology magazines out there! I always get excited when it arrives.

Go here to order.

Not a retrograde planet anywhere to be found!

Roads are Clear!

On Thanksgiving morning (US time) Uranus went direct in the sign Pisces. I mentioned it both in my Scorpio New Moon and Sag New Moon articles which can be found: Here . But one thing that I didn't point out in detail was that once Uranus straightened up and flew right it set up a enviroment that does not come up often. We currently have NO--- count it, NO planets in retrograde!

That's is correct, every planet is zooming ahead doing its thing the way it wants, without a care in the world. And it will remain this way until December 31, when Saturn, slows down and retrogrades. But until that point everyone is guns a blazin'. I have to say it took me a moment to get my vibe on this phenomenon and I had a hard time separating it from some of the stronger aspects which are also taking place (e.g. Uranus oppose Saturn) but now, almost one week later processing these enviroment --I am very confident when I say, "Get out of the way, everyone is showing their true colors!" I don't know if I can even explain it all astrologically, but it seems to me that those people who are Saturnian in nature are so Saturnian right now. For example, I have Saturn conjunct my Sun. Even though I am a Sagittarian and prone to all the Sag exhurbance, I am still very centered, reserved in many ways and very, very Saturnian. And in the last week, I am feeling Saturn's direct energy very clearly. My list of responsibilities is endless. And just when I think I have accomplished everything on my "to-do" list, someone goes and hands me something else! If it needs to be handled and it needs to be handled by someone who takes responsibilities seriously, well it is being handed to me. I feel like my natal Saturn is talking to transiting Saturn saying, "I got your back, baby! Give it to me!"

At the same time, I have seen some people who are very, very Uranian. Eccentric, sure, perhaps even odd, but in the last few days they have kind of crossed into that other Uranian word--"crazy!" Oh, my goodness I saw one person do some stuff that was so wacked, I thought, "Well, there is some crazy Uranian energy blasting through!"

I am also seeing some Mars energy show up. Those people who I find very energetic. Those who are "on it, doggone it", the type that don't let moss grow on their feet, very Marslike well, they are starting to kick it up and are looking for a good ol' fashion fight. Swearing like a drunk soldier these personalities don't give a shit what they say! It is all Mars to me.

I have not yet personally came across Neptunian and Jupiter energy full throttle but then, this cycle is still young and I am confident I will see someone in my world completely be full of themselves who shoot off their mouth and claim something is right and true and everyone is wrong and then I will know.. "Oh, there is Jupiter" .. As for Neptune, that will be easy to find. They are the ones who need the designated driver. Anyway, I think my point is, that if you find yourself more pointed in a direction than usual and find yourself just really digging in about something, I would suggest that this window where all planets are going direct moving through the signs as fast as they can are activating energies in you. And maybe, one of them is a bit more stronger than the others, calling you. See what comes up between now and December 31st. I think you'll find your inner compass pulling you somewhere.

I'm so sorry this is so late....

Hello, Friends---
Please accept my apologies for my very tardy posting. I was out of town for ten days and when I returned I had to fight my way out of the endless errands and tasks that awaited my return. None of it glamorous and all of it tedious. Anyway, I am finally making my way through the pile and ready to post again.
I know I had a lot of new visitors while I was gone and please don't judge me too harshly for my lack of posts. I am usually much better than the last two weeks. Come back and visit me and you'll see I have plenty to talk about when it comes to astrology.

Anyway, on to the matters at hand......

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Friends, I am sorry I didn't get more posts up this last week but I was slammed by various deadlines. I am going to have to take a bit of break due to Holiday Obligations but I may be able to squeeze out some postings during next week but if not expect to see me right after Thanksgiving. I have lots to discuss.....

more to come... gobble gobble.

Sag New Moon---It is here!

As many of you know, I generate a New Moon report every month. That report can be found on Margaret Wendt's Website.

I will post a taste of it here but you can find the whole report on her website here. Please read the whole thing---there is a lot going on with this Moon and I want you to get all the goods!

Where should my focus be during this next 28-day cycle?
For twenty
eight days you have the opportunity to look off in the future for new
directions, new lands to conquer, new roads to follow and new actions which will
take you to the promise land. Of course, “promise” as defined by
you.

A High Octane Vision

As
always, in a new moon, The Sun and the Moon are in conjunction which means they
are on top of each other –however with this new moon there is an extra perk--on
top of the Sun and Moon are Mercury and Mars. That’s quite a party. What
this means in broad strokes is that the Sun, our identity, the Moon, our
emotions, Mercury, our brains and Mars, our warrior are all united in visionary
Sag. At first glance, it might not seem like a big deal having Mars and
Mercury on top of the Sun and Moon. But if you step back and widen the
lens you will see it is quite significant.

For the last fourteen years, Pluto,
arguably the most powerful planet in the zodiac, has been slogging through
Sagittarius causing as much mayhem (some of it subterranean) as
possible. But now it has moved out of Sag and into the austere,
reserved, cautious Capricorn. What makes this curious is that the
move by Pluto happened about fifteen hours before the Sag New Moon.
And, not to be outdone by mighty Pluto, Uranus also made a significant move by
switching from retrograde to a direct motion less than One hour before the New
Moon. In my book, to have these two powerful shifts occur before the
Sag Moon is downright auspicious.

Remember, Pluto could have
made its final move from Sag into Cap on any date of the year. It could
have happened in May, perhaps the crescent cycle of Taurus. Or it could
have happened on the first quarter of Virgo. But no, Pluto made the move
out of Sag during the balsamic phase of Scorpio just a few hours before the SAG
NEW MOON! It almost felt like Sag, no longer burdened by Pluto, is gifted
with the New Moon conjunct Mars and Mercury as if to say, “Hey the old ball and
chain has finally left my life, Let’s party!”

The last gasp of Pluto in Sag--More bad journalism

As the final days of Pluto in Sagittarius are upon us, it is somewhat disheartening to see that one of the main issues exposed during Pluto’s trek is still grabbing our attention--- Bad Journalism.

Sagittarius rules publishing/media/journalism. It is the printed word. Yes, I know we are slowly phasing out paper and replacing it with electronic signals sent to your little computer, but cyberjournalism is still journalism and therefore ruled by Sag.

Truly, the saga of Pluto in Sag and its celebration of pulp began almost on minute one. The trial of OJ Simpson for the murder of his wife Nicole began one week after Pluto entered Sag (Jan 1995). Yes, the murder took place while Pluto was in the last degrees of Scorpio (perfect) but the trial began in Sag. And, yes, by the time of the verdict, Pluto had retrograde back into Scorpio. But it did not matter, the die was cast. The frenzy of reporters who threw themselves into the fray at Los Angeles County Courthouse was mind boggling. Circus was an understatement.

Gossip mills popped up everywhere. Neighbors sold stories to trashy magazines and talk shows. God knows, careers were made or at least defined during that period and even a whole new channel was created-- Court TV. And this was all during the first 2 degrees of Pluto in Sag!

The years that followed brought us Matt Drudge and his rumor mill along with NY Times reporter Jason Blair and Oprah Book Club author James Frey who both used a lot of fiction to help sell "true" stories. And then we publicly watched them get their butts kicked over it. Which to me was even more Pluto in Sag. Sigh.
Later we would see News agencies call early results for the 2000 election and then later offer a mea culpa, which I am sure was cold comfort to Al Gore and whoever voted for him. And then what about all of the reporters who we got to know intimately while they covered, Katrina, The Indian Ocean Tsunami and September 11th? One wonders what Edward Murrow would have thought if he watched some of their reports? I think he shuddered from his grave.

The bottom line is that Pluto’s trek through Sag has not been pretty for the world of journalism—hell, even Dan Rather got caught up in the melee. And here we are on the final days and we are once again dealing with the liars and the lies that they tell. Which is bad enough, but what is more bad, is the news agencies who report it!

Currently, the nonsense that came out last week that Sarah Palin did not know Africa was a continent, which was reported from “anonymous insiders” from within the MCCain Camp, has turned out to be jokers who set up a huge hoax. And who reported it? FoxNews, MSNBC and various papers. Shame on all of them! “A pox on all of them” I say.
I gotta say I will get down on my hands and knees and pray that all of this will settle down once Pluto moves into Capricorn. Sure, we might go into a complete economic depression and lose our federal reserve... but at least the pulp will stop! Or at least I hope so.

General Motors---No surprise, North Node 0 Cancer

I am one of those people that when I have something blow into my path I may or may not note it. But when I have something blow in and then another thing similiar blow in and then a third thing similiar blow in....well, that is when I stop and take a look and see what needs my attention. Such a thing occured yesterday and is the reason for today's post.

As most of you know, General Motors is in the news. Basically GM has run out of money. Or if the coffers are not completely drained they will be by January. This story went into the Nation's zeitgest about 1 minute after Obama walked off the stage in Chicago. I was stunned to hear that for every 1 GM job there are 5 jobs elsewhere tied to GM. It will be a lot of lost jobs if they close. This was the conversation of the weekend and certainly on Monday.

Well, later in the evening on Monday I was poking around on TV and I saw an interview with Michael Moore which included a clip from his first film, "Roger and Me". The centerpiece of the film of course, was Moore's attempt to interview Roger Smith the CEO of GM about the job losses in Flint, Michigan. As I was watching the clip I thought, "Oh, GM again."

Then an hour later I was watching "American Experience" which was about the 1929 Stock Market Crash. While watching that show, one of the acts was focused on a major Wall Street player--- William Durant, the man who started GM. I gotta tell you, I seriously know very little about the history of GM but when I have 3 pieces of information about GM come to me in 3 very unique ways in one day I know it is time to look at GM's chart!

Before I get to GM's chart, it is worth noting that Durant was a Sag with moon in Pisces. Both visionary signs and then add to it he has Jupiter and Saturn conjunct in hard working Virgo plus his Sun in Sag oppose to Uranus in Gemini----well, it no surprise this man could see something where others didn't and build a fortune 500 company with his own hands out of his vision and ideas. The fact that he lost it all in 1929 and would eventually end up running a bowling alley could have something to do with Neptune in Pisces oppose Jupiter/Saturn along with Pluto Square Venus (5 degree orb). It is also interesting (at least to me) that his own North Node in Cap is opposite of GM's north node. His story is one of rags to riches to rags but he was respected among his community and he never stopped working. If a movie was made about his life, I'm sure Daniel Day Lewis would star!

Now, with GM, I drafted a chart for noon since I am not clear what time Durant organized the company but the date can be found easily on the GM Website.

At first blush, I am intriqued that the company is a Virgo with a moon in Gemini. A Gemini moon feels perfect given the company was a collection of other car companies that became GM. It almost feels like siblings, Buick, Cadillac and Oldsmobile (one month later) which is perfectly Gemini. Additionally, Durant being a Sagittarian is pefect since they are good for a Gemini buddy and I can see how a company started with moon in Gemini would be a natural for him.

Unfortunatley, in the last 15 years, Pluto's transit through Sag has been murder for GM's Sun in Virgo and Moon in Gemini. As we know, Pluto will destroy those things that no longer serve. Given GM had the Electric Car and then took it off the market and was documented in a well received film, "Who Killed the Electric Car?" one can scratch their head and wonder if Pluto is now paying back."

And for those of us who live in a city that once upon a time had a beautiful transit system that was systematically dismantled nefariously (dare I say) "well oiled" machine made up of GM and good friends at oil and tire industries (learn more HERE) . Now I'm forced to sit in horrible traffic at any time of the day thanks to their operation. So, I do have to quell the desire to say "Go for it, Pluto".

But that was a long time ago and now I can maintain a cool reserve and suggest that Jupiter's Zero degree Virgo could benefit by Pluto's move in Capricorn which will be at the end of November and December. But it will not be without an overhaul given GM's North Node is Zero degree in Cancer. I would say that it is possible GM has operated more for its south node in Cap than its north node in Cancer. Truly, had it come from a place of "What's best for families" and not "What's best for GM" it might not be in the place it is in. But given Pluto is about to run over the south node like a Monster SUV, I would guess it is time to overhaul everything about GM. Perhaps they will resurrect the Electric Car? Perhaps they will be the first major real American Green Car company. However, if they ask us for money and just proceed to do business (South Node Cap) as usual, they will be dust. Afterall, Pluto demands a Metamorphous. The key in my mind is these changes had better have long vision because GM's has Saturn at 7 degree Aries and it will be experiencing an opposition by Saturn in Libra in a few years along with another round of Pluto Medicine. If they can make the changes they have to make then they could be the real auto company with a future and reap some rewards (which can occur under Saturn-Saturn aspects).

Perhaps the little company with Sun in Virgo and Moon in Gemini will finally get religion. Which of the 4 mutable signs, is the most difficult for these two!

One last tidbit about the birthdate of GM, from the Wiki Timeline

A company called General Motors was established on September 16. Its initial
holdings included only Durant’s Buick Motor Company and went un-noticed in the
news media, with the major business news story that day being the announcement
by the White Star Line shipping company that it would begin construction of the
world’s largest ocean liner, to be called the Titanic.

Here's the November 12 10:19 pm PST

Full Moon Chart.

I drafted it for Los Angeles which of course does not really matter. Keep your focus on the planets not the houses.

Full Moon November 12 2008

In my Scorpio Lunar Phase report which can be found HERE I discussed the Taurus Full Moon would be a doozey and tempers could be short. I would like to flesh it out a bit more.

First of all, this full moon is called a SuperMoon. When the moon is closest to the Earth it is called a perigree. When the moon is either New Moon or Full Moon it is a syzgy. When it is a perigree and a syzgy it is a SuperMoon. I will be honest with you I don’t follow SuperMoons more closely than regular New and Full Moons, but there are astrologers who are versed in the distinctions and Richard Nolle has a list of SuperMoons HERE.

I am intrigued by the astrologers who track earthquakes and Tsunamis and if you do a google search you will find a couple astrologers who have tied large Earthquakes, volcanoes and Tsunamis (2004 Tsunami) near a SuperMoon. We will have a SuperMoon this month (full) followed by another in December (full) and a third in January. That does seem like a lot of tension on our little Earth!

By the way, here’s an interesting discussion on Moon Quakes caused by the gravitational pull of Earth. How hard is it to think of the opposite? Would not the Moon pull on Earth?

Seismic activity or not, it can be an emotional Moon.

Tempers could be short with Mars and Sun sitting right near each other (conjunction) along with mouthy Mercury a smidge to their east. When the Mars and the Sun are in conjunction in Scorpio they are pretty covert and usually James Bond lethal. That alone is pretty powerful stuff but then when you add that these two are digging in (square) with our favorite illusionist Neptune it is pretty clear (can you say that with Neptune?) subterfuge will be paramount. I would say expect undercover activity but then if you can expect undercover then it really isn't undercover, is it?

If you can’t get a clear answer from someone, it is not personal, blame Neptune. But if you get jabbed or jettisoned by someone (Sun/Mars Scorpio) lick your wounds, retreat for a bit and then consider your next move later, perhaps in the next lunar cycle. OR maybe you will be relieved. Maybe you needed to get prodded a bit so you could release them? As always, “release” is a great Scorpio word.

Given the moon is in the sign Taurus which is a money sign and Scorpio is a debt/loan/financials sign. I would certainly expect some seismic activity on Wall Street. If it a huge drop it could be due to Neptune-y things like Oil, natural gases or Pharmaceuticals. If it is a big gain, it would be due to the same. And of course, someone could just be doing some big smoke and mirrors which jerks the stocks up and down. Maybe just some old big hedge fund funny business.

Also, remember Taurus loves things that are concrete, things that are built upon, things that are used for structures. Scorpio likes to tear things down. Destroy. Having Mars the warrior right there next to the Sun can give a bit more weight to the ‘destroy’. But as always, from the ashes something will be born. What will you birth on this full moon?

Note:

Luckily the 3 days of the Full Moon phases will have:

Jupiter sextile Uranus (11/13) Unexpected luck, unexpected foreign influence, big meets unusual

Mercury trine Uranus (11/16) Mental capacity is sharp and unique. Unexpected thoughts lead to unexpected communiqués

ETA: Many apologies, I can't believe I forgot (this is what happens when I have notes on my yellow stickums!) There is a another major support from the universe during the Full Moon phase from Saturn's (Virgo) grand trine with Jupiter (cap) and Moon (Taurus). These three planets in earth signs harmoniously interacting with each other give us the brace we need. Even if we feel we can't do one more thing and are fatigued by "what else?" there will be some glimmer of support and help. And here is the good news it won't be airy fairy help. It will be concrete help and potential solutions. There used to be an old expression, "When I ask for the time, I don't want to know how to build a watch." In the case of this grandtrine you will get the time!

So, even if we feel blindsided by anyone or anything the Universe will give us a boost by the end of the phase . In my best, Tim Gunn voice, "Carry On."

Time to tinker a bit regarding Astrology and Elections

Don't miss: Ray Merrimen's Excellent Analysis of Astrology and The Election
Certainly, astologers were all over the obvious, including me, Saturn versus Uranus in the big ass opposition that took place on November 4 was clearly reflective in our nominees. McCain equal Saturn. Obama equal Uranus. But then of course, had McCain won, Uranus would have been Palin and Saturn would have been Biden! So, either way it worked. Where things got a bit tricky was the void of course moon, which many thought would delay the results. And the Moon conjunct Jupiter which could have favored McCain. Ray Merrimen thoughtfully answers questions that some of us have been left with in our little heads now that the dust has settled.

So in the end, what did we learn about Astrology and this election? I
believe the following points are noteworthy for future election forecast by
Mundane Astrologers:
1. The casting of the first vote on Election Day
is no longer the true chart to use for ascertaining the results of a USA
presidential election. With the advent of “pre-election day” voting, over a
third of the vote in many states was completed before November 4, rendering the
first vote at 12:01:00 AM, November 4, as meaningless. The early voting results
showed Obama scored a 58-40% advantage before November 4. After the voting of
November 4, he won the election with 52% of the vote. This furthermore rendered
the results of the New Hampshire primary as invalid, which contained similar
Moon-Jupiter in Capricorn transits as November 4

Moon in Aquarius -- Obama Action noted!

Well, as we get to know our new President Elect it is interesting to watch when actions take place under his leadership. I learned today (thanks to a posting by Nester on Molly's Nodeorama) that yesterday Obama took action on something while the Moon was in Aquarius and in his First house (which is the house of Self). Just a reminder, the first house is what you present to the world. When the Moon is traveling through your first house you can find it to be an active time for you or a time of unrest. It feels more personal. You just feel compelled often to just do something.
In President-Elect Obama's case, he launched a new website.

Barack Obama Launches A New Website - change.gov
Barack Obama seems
to
be keeping his promise of change, starting with a website. Today the site
change.gov was launched.
The site is an open
platform, that hopes to engage the American people in
the governmental process.

A perfect example of how his Aquarius Ascendent with the Moon in Aquarius is
reaching out to America (which also has moon in Aquarius). It will be
interesting to see what else he does when the moon crosses his first next
month.

Virgo & Taurus--It is finally your time

Pluto enters Capricorn and sends love to Taurus & Virgo

I have spoken volumes on the changes we will all be experiencing as Pluto begins its trek in Capricorn. But instead of focusing on the economic and infrastructure issues-- that we all know is in our future, I would like to take a minute to talk to a few interesting folks who will not be pained by Pluto but instead will be in awe of Pluto.

Yes, there is a select group of you who have got some interesting times ahead. Those Tauruses who are born April 20-24 and those Virgos born August 23 - 27 take special note...something good is coming to you. Yes, of course an astrologer gets in trouble when they talk about good & bad--- we rather say Opportunities and Challenges.. But my point is, I would encourage you to get ready to see more good and experience it. What is about to happen is Pluto will go into earth sign Cap and the minute it does the bells will be ringing in the other two earth signs--Virgo and Taurus.

What does this mean? Well astrologicallyspeaking I am talking about an aspect called a TRINE. We love a good ol' trine. It is a beneficial aspect. Three is a strong position, don't believe me, why is a camera always on a tripod? Because three legs is stronger than four and definitely better than two. Think of the holy trinity. We love 3's. And in the astrology all of the elements are divided into four elements with 3 signs each. The trine means the 3 signs are 90 degrees apart and if you drew a line between all three it would be a perfect Triangle. Except for Bermuda---We Love Triangles.

When Pluto goes into Cap and says, "Hey, Virgo, I'm over here with my big Trine ready to help you!" "And you, Taurus, let me see if there is something I can do that with my big Trine that will make life easier for you."

However, the funny thing about Pluto is that it is not a Santa Clause aspect, that is more Jupiter (Santa and his fat gut!) instead the image of a trine from Pluto is very much like the image I picked above, an open lock with a key. Pluto finally helps you find the keys in which you have been searching.

For Virgo this is a welcomed gift because for many of the early degree Virgos way back in the late 90's they had the shit end of the Pluto stick. That was when Pluto was all in black and breathing like Darth Vader as he went through your life and house in a storm trooper stomp. I don't have to know the details to know that you got it in the pants. Perhaps it was a death of someone important, perhaps it was the end of a marriage, perhaps it was the end of a career perhaps it was an illness where you came out of it saying, "As god as my witness I will never be ____ again." Or maybe it was not an ending of a marriage but it was not what you expected or a job that turned out not to be what it appeared on the surface. Whatever it was, it was a real drag. Well, guess what? Now Pluto wants to make amends.

And you, Taurus, many of you a number of years ago felt betrayed by Uranus who kicked you with a whirlwind of harsh activity. First you are doing this and then you are doing that, you are living here and working there and then you are not. You are in love and then you are not. You want to be this when you grow up and then you realize you don't what to be that..and frankly you don't even want to grow up. This was a real bitch of a time, think around the mid 90's. Then just when you thought you had enough, then you got Neptune in the late 90's making your life a living hell...with too much frivolous behavior , booze, perhaps some drugs and just good old fashion illusion. Whatever it was Neptune just had you gassed into believing something that was not real. And you were so disillusioned.. such is Neptune sigh.

But now, you both are in store for some Pluto benefits.
For those early degree Taurus and Virgo Sun's..(0-2 degrees) between now and the end of 2009 you can find yourself with some unique opportunities. Perhaps someone offers you something you never thought you would do and in fact you would normally turn this person down but just for some strange reason you say, "yes" and the next thing you know you are in some amazing situation. Or if it is not that obvious, you say yes, and a door opens and you go in and from there another door opens and then another and you find yourself in wildly curious place but it all makes sense and you see your life improve. Improve in an unusual way. Taurus, because you are often stuck in the mud and Virgo because you often can't see the forest for the trees----both of you often get trapped by a thinking that good has to look a certain way. "It has got to be this way or I won't be happy." Well, Pluto in Cap your fellow Earth sign is keen on finding opportunities in the most ridiculous ways and manners and Cap can make use out of anything. But luckily for you, because you trust your fellow earth sign, you will say,"hmm...okay." And that is the KEY.
Of course, you do have to be reasonable with these types of transits. I'm not saying that when the guy on the motorcycle comes up to you and says with a wink, "Want to ride to my leather shop?" And you are having a day where your kids are bugging you and you loathe your husband----- that does not mean you say 'yes' to the biker. Ah, no. Be reasonable! But still keep your eyes open for some lucky breaks. What you don't know is that you earned your luck. And pluto will hand you the key---that you always had in your possession, you just weren't ready to find it until now.
Click your shoes, Dorothy!

Barack Obama's Astrological Natal Chart

I'm sorry if the font is too small. But here is his chart.

If you want to go to Lois Rodden's sight. You can go here to get Barack's chart.

Barack Obama President Elect

They said it could not be done. They said "Not in their lifetime" They said, "America is not ready."
BAM! And just like that the bubble popped.
Barack Obama made history on Novembe 4th. I don't need to spell it out, you know he did.
So, what do we know about his astrological Chart? He has his Sun in Leo. Moon in Gemini and Aquarius rising. The United States loves Aquarius. Afterall, the USA has moon in Aquarius. And think about some of its favorite stars, Oprah, Paul Newman, John Travolta---America loves these people and not just for a month or two like American Idol...they love them for years and years... through the decades... It is hard to imagine Barack's Aquarius Rising disappointing America, but then he is in politics and half the game of politics is pissing off people. But at least for now, let's enjoy his Aquarius Rising.
Of course, his Leo sun makes him long on charisma and charm. It also gives him the backbone to know he can do the job. No self doubts with him. Just like Bill Clinton, another Leo President. Bill never seemed to waiver from his ability to do the job. Even in the middle of a scandal. It is worth noting that when he left office Bill Clinton's approval rating was around 62 percent. Where as, GWB who had no blue dress and interns named Monica to mess up his White House, his approval rating is hovering around 23 percent. Ah, the power of a charismatic Leo.
Barack's moon in Gemini is clever and quick and it will help him bring a smart group of advisors. We have had two Gemini presidents, JFK and the first George Bush. Both men were smart. Both liked smart people. They are both clever although, perhaps one was a bit more nefarious than the other. We should expect the same smart and cleverness with Barack's Moon in Gemini, it is still super smart and isn't it nice to think of a curious and smart man in that office again? I've been waiting a very long time. Sigh.
We have plenty of time to discuss his chart and the future and frankly is is all overwhelming now as we are still in the afterglow of yesterday.
But I will say one small thing about the future, when using equal house system (AstrodataBank chart) the cusp of Barack's 2nd house and 8th house are 18 degrees Virgo and 18 Degrees Pisces. Does that degree mean anything to any of you? It should. Yesterday's Saturn/ Uranus Opposition was at 18 degrees Virgo/Pisces. And 2nd house is money, possessions, banks. 8th house is loans, debt and insurance. Additionally, crime, real estate, taxes, blood and values will be highlighted.
Clearly, in my opinion The Economy is going to be his first challenge and since this opposition is number 1 of 5, we are not anywhere near the end of the turmoil, it is only going to grow more. Especially when you think that these planets are just barely in his 2nd and 8th houses. We have a lot of work in front of us. Or, I should say Obama has a lot of work. Which leads me to my favorite satire news source "The Onion" . Today, their headline said it all, "Black Man Given Nation's Most Worst Job."

"Hey, Saturn --quit hitting me with your ring"

Mr. Stop meet Mr. Change

I would like to alert the media of an important fact-----Saturn opposing Uranus is a pain in the Uranus.
And for those who have been anticipating today's aspect, I'm sure you are nodding your head muttering, "No, shit, Sherlock."
Anyway, at the end of October I wrote about today's opposition. You can find the whole article here on Margaret Wendt's Website
But here is a lead in----
Saturn opposes Uranus
November 4 2008, Feb 5 2009, September 15, 2009, April 26, 2010, July 26, 2010---

November 4: 18 Virgo 58 ---18 Pisces 58

Sabian Symbol: “A swimming Race” keyword: Elimination --
Sabian Symbol: “A master instructing his pupil” Keyword: Elucidation

In previous new moons we have discussed that there are several astrological aspects building in the next few years that are going to get our attention. One of those aspects is Saturn Oppose Uranus. The last time these two planets were opposed to one another was between, 1965-1967. At that time, Saturn was in Pisces and Uranus in Virgo, now we have the opposite, Saturn in Virgo and Uranus in Pisces. So, same crowd, but different results. Take note of those years, 1965-1967 was a rebellious time, the anti war movement was heating up, along with equal rights and anti discrimination protests. Martin Luther King marched on Selma. Can you feel the echo from those times now? Unresolved issues from that time will experience movement now. But notice that there are four more dates between 2009 and 2010. Clearly, the troubles don’t end on November 4, if anything they begin. I think for all of us, we need to manage expectations. So, get your head around the idea that we will have troubles come up, be processed, then new ground will be taken, we settle down and then another trouble comes up and we process it, it settles down and then more trouble arises and the pattern continues until the big culmination in July 2010 when the final aspect will take place in Aries and Libra. Also at that time Saturn and Uranus will make tough aspects with Pluto/Jupiter/Mars and Venus. It will be a very stormy period, but before we get into the business of predicting trouble in the summer of 2010 we need to first deal with the matters at hand.

Where Uranus goes, trouble breakthrough follows

As you can see the first date of Saturn/Uranus opposition is November 4, 2008 and most of us are already feeling it—namely fear.
Uranus in Pisces brings up all of our fears. It makes us look backwards and shudder at some of our choices. It is the wreckage of our past. And when we look backward we are so afraid we will repeat those mistakes again. Or we will get caught with our pants down.....
the article continues on Margaret's sight. Please give it a read.

Rockie Gardiner: Rest In Peace

Today I heard the news that a friend has passed away. Rockie Gardiner died on Halloween at 11:11am in Los Angeles. For those people who never had the pleasure of reading her work, Rockie wrote one of the sharpest weekly astrology columns in the country. Every week she generated a pithy and smart analysis of the planetary transits and how they impacted sun signs. I am probably like most astrologers and really hate reading weekly sun sign reports, afterall, sun sign columns are often too airy fairy and never stretch beyond one note. But Rockie was a cut above those type of writings. She never talked down to the reader and she never soft pedeled it. I remember, one week she candidly wrote that there was a strong possibility of an earthquake due to a Uranus aspect. Sure enough there was a a big quake that week (I think "Whittier Narrows"). Rockie was a Sag and had a mouth on her that was very Sag. Colorful expletives peppered her conversations and she certainly was not afraid of her opinions. But at the same time, Rockie was very sensitive. Earlier this year she and I exchanged some emails regarding a mutual friend whose pet dog died. She wanted to send a note to the friend but at the same time she wanted to confirm with me a wedding anniversary date of our friend because she wanted to be sure and wish our friend a Happy Anniversary. She did not want to only focus on the sadnes of the pet dying but also cheer on the marriage. I am very sad about her death. Especially, since I sent her an email this weekend to talk about an astrological aspect that I find worrisome. I thought it was strange I had not heard back from her but now I undersand. Sigh. Take a look at her latest Rockie Report for a taste of her style. Rockie will be missed greatly by her readers and her friends and of course her family. And certainly the Astrology community will miss her greatly. Hugs and kisses to you, Rockie!

Pluto In Capricorn--Ice Volcano, anyone?

I started this blog on Scorpio New Moon and in a typically Scorpio way-- have only let a few people know about it. Discreet is so Scorpio. So, I don't know how many of you have poked over here yet. But if you have, welcome to my blog.

Today I went to Lynn Koiner's sight where she had an article I found very interesting. It involves lively discussions she had with various astrologers including Bill Meridian. Of course it is about my favorite subject: Pluto in Capricorn. By the way, I feel like I have been discussing Pluto in Cap since Pluto hit the last decanate of Sag! Talk about a slow build up.

He sees Americans having to fight for independence once again. As a result
of NAFTA and CAFTA, construction of the Tans Texas Corridor has already begun.
The problems associated with security, seized property and the exportation of
business to low-cost Mexico is obvious and many States are “adopting legislation
to block intrusion into their states.” With a linking of the EC, Free Trade
Association of the Americas, and a Far Eastern organization into a one-world
government, Bill portends a greater intrusion of governmental power and
resistance to it. As the USA debt becomes a global problem, “an international
‘Big Mac’ is appointed to restructure the US. Pluto was conjunct the USA Cancer
planets in the 1930s. It will be opposite from 2008-2024.”

This is just a snippet of the article and I really encourage you to read the whole article which I think benefits from a European point of view.

The Federal Reserve Chart.... Cap with Moon in Scorpio

Part of the reason why I started this blog was because I wanted to offer up a quick respository of some good astro sights. I know that there are many of us who put up links but that does not mean the cyber world would not benefit by one more blog of links. At least I hope so.

Anyway, David Crook offered up a link to an older article by Bill Meridian about the history of The Federal Reserve. Merrimen mentioned it in his article but Meridian goes into more depth.

No one should be surprised to learn that the Federal Reserve has a Sun in Capricorn with Moon in Scorpio but what I find most interesting is that the Federal Reserve has a North Node in Pisces at 18 degree and South Node at 18 Virgo. Now, for those of you paying attention, Uranus and Saturn will be in opposition to each other at 18 degrees Pisces and Virgo. The first hit of Uranus and Saturn is November 4. The two planets will be opposing one another five times. Each one of these hits will be at different degrees of Pisces/Virgo and then the final one will be in Aries/Libra. But this first one is at the exact degree of The Federal Reserve's Nodes. The challenge when a node takes a hit is if we as Abraham Lincoln said, "Will be touched by the better angels of our nature." Or will we fall into the slippery slope of our south node?

What will the Federal Reserve do with Uranus and Saturn zapping its nodes? And at this same time Pluto the evolutionary planet will be on The Federal Reserve's Sun. How will the landscape change even further? Clearly we are not done.

Take a read of the rich history and astro chart of the federal reserve here, The Federal Reserve's chart by Bill Meridian

Ray Merriman does not mince words on Pluto in Cap

I only recently became familiar with Ray Merriman an astrologer who evidently has been around a very long time, well, at least since the old days when Pluto was a planet. I think I read an article by him in (probably) Mountain Astrologer earlier this year. But what really left an impression on me, was when one of my astro gal friends, (thank you, Carol) sent me a link to Ray with a note---"He's the real deal. Very sensible". I immediately opened up the link and proceeded to read one of the toughests takes on Pluto's in Cap I have ever read. Truly, not for the faint of heart. (Lordy!)

But having said that, I do think he has provided a richly researched and thoughtful analysis of the cardinal squares and the other once-in-a century aspects we have coming around the pike. And one thing you gotta say, is any guy who goes back a thousand years to double check his astro challenges is okay with me. Here's to the 21st century Hun's conquering Rome! (just kidding)

Here's a little snippet, go to the link for more data:

Pluto in Capricorn, 2008-2024: “The Good, Bad, Even Worse, and Redemption.” What are the trends we may anticipate during the next 16 years? If history is any guide (and it is to an astrologer), then we can anticipate first new highs in many of the world’s stock markets. This of course means that investors – the wealthy of the world – become even wealthier. But this creates an imbalance in society between the classes. The “haves” have more. The “have nots” have less. Movements begin to raise taxes, and not always of the wealthy. At the same time there are movements by people in power (governments or dictators) to restrict basic rights and liberties. These leaders of the world move to expand their powers, perhaps to the point of acting upon their primal impulses to destroy or massacre certain segments of the world’s population that they believe interfere with their “vision” of a perfect world. And yet these same leaders may act to rebuild the infrastructure of their country, providing important basic needs to communities that support these populations (as well as their own personal legends of being “the greatest” leader of that nation). On the one hand, they do some good deeds. But on the other hand, there is a cost for doing business with these people: you lose your rights, and you may even be the wrong religion or skin color or nationality, and that makes you subject to annihilation because you are a threat to their perfect world vision. Does it have to be this way? Of course not. And in the end - before Pluto leaves Capricorn - these megalomaniacs with an unquenchable lust for total power will likely make critical errors in judgments, just as they have done in the past. Their populations are apt to rise up and throw them out of power. But only after they have first wreaked havoc and destruction of the national pride.

The Sea Has Changed: Scorpio New Moon 2008

The Sea has Changed: Scorpio New Moon 2008
Many of you are well aware of the Uranus/Saturn opposition that will be taking place on November 4. As difficult as it is to imagine, our issues do not get resolved on November 4th--in truth they begin. "Huh? Say it is not so."

Yep, we have got a lot happening during the Scorpio 28 day lunar cycle--Neptune turns direct, Saturn Opposes Uranus (1st of 5 times), Pluto moves into Capricorn, Uranus goes direct. All in one cycle. It is important in my mind for us to get on the right side of these sea changes- I strongly encourage you to read the article. As, always--

I have posted my New Moon article on Margaret Wendt's website---if you have not been there it is chock full of all things metaphysical and more. After you read my article, Be sure and check out here radio shows! Here's a snippet of my Scorpio New Moon Article....

Where should my focus be during this next 28-day cycle?Release the old in order to receive the new. The trick of course is determining what is ‘old’.Ashes to AshesThere is no other way to say it so I am going to cut to the chase, “Welcome to the new world” are you ready? What we have now in front of us is an awakening. Maybe rude, maybe not, but certainly an awakening. There are some astrologers describing the period we are entering as an amazing opportunity for real breakthroughs and solutions. There are also astrologers who will tell you that there is a whole lot of crap coming down and after it arrives, there will be more. Me? I think both are both correct and that they are not mutually exclusive. A lot of stuff is happening and some of it is not nice but there will be solutions ----eventually.
