Libra New Moon--How do you relate?

Libra New Moon
Tuesday September 27, 2011 7:08am EDT
4 Libra 00

It is a tough New Moon. But if we are focused on the glass being half full we can all get through it not too bruised. As always you can find my full article on Margaret Wendt's site.
But here is a snippet.

BALANCING ACT

We are put on notice that all Libra New Moons between 2008 and 2023 and in particular between 2011 and 2017 could be under tremendous stress. With Pluto in Capricorn (till 2023) and Uranus in Aries (till 2017) the Libra New Moons have a potential to both square Pluto and Oppose Uranus. I say potential because NOT every Libra new moon will make aspects to Pluto/Uranus. Some will be free and clear of the harshness. Yeah, that is great but it is not this New Moon. Nope, this new moon is smack in the middle of the rough aspects. Yeesh. Wasn’t the Cancer New Moon rough enough? Sigh. Apparently not.

Libra is the opposite of Aries. In Aries we are (rightfully) concerned with self. That is why we build our treasure maps on Aries moon because we are focused on number one. Now at Libra we are halfway through the zodiac and ready to focus on relationships. Our marriages and partnership are all in view. How are they looking?

Libra seeks balance and relishes negotiation. If someone says ‘black’ and another says, ‘white,’ Libra will look for the ‘grey’. God bless Libra, they are always trying to find the equilibrium in a very agitated world. And above all they spend a great deal of their time focused on equality and it is usually Libra who says, “That’s not fair.”

Pluto in Capricorn while squaring Uranus in Aries continues to put pressure on our commerce and government. Banks and stock markets continue to crack, businesses deflate and money tightens. We’ve been slogging through this since 2008 and are perhaps getting numb to the mess. But on this Libra cycle may see cracks and fissures in our marriages and partnerships. Things may not feel fair or balanced. How much do our relationships have to bend and sway to the powers greater than it? It is hard on all of us. How do we take it out on others? And also with this Libra cycle we may learn on many levels that cooperation is good economics. Again, both personally and globally.

Then there is Uranus in Aries who wants to disconnect from any yoke and run off wildly into new horizons and break new ground as we reinvent ourselves. This too will impact us, “How can I seek new ground while maintain my marriage?” “Why are my relationships bugging me?” And if you are thinking, “Hey, I’m not married I guess I get the all-clear this month.” You would be wise to remember you are in relationship. Plenty of them. The relationship with your house, the relationship with your friends, the relationship with your body, the relationship with your money, the relationship with your family. Quite simply: How you ‘relate’ is put on notice. Are you the controller? Are you the victim? Are you impotent? Are you forceful? Are you the cheerleader? Are you detached? Do these approaches serve you? Perhaps the answer is yes, perhaps it is no, but all us will be challenged for 28 days and by the end of the cycle we may decide to change many of our approaches.

Financial Astrology

I remember 10 years ago, in the days that followed 9/11, Rudy Guillani was giving so many press conferences on the air quality and the smoke and ash that he felt the need to remind everyone that he was not a doctor, although he admitted he was starting to feel like one.

In the case of astrology, I know I feel similiarly, when we are talking about Uranus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn (2012-2016) all of us astrologers can't help but sound like financial astrologers. Which started back in 2008 when we began to speak of the tide of turmoil coming with Pluto's move into Capricorn. Because Capricorn rules business and wall street and banking institions (and government), we just are going to be talking a lot about those things. Thus, we all start sounding like financial astrologers. But the vast majority of astrologers are not.

If you are interested in following financial astrology, there are a lot of people who do it.

I frequently send you to Ray Merriman's Merriman Market Analyst sight, who is of course super smart.

Over on my favorites bar you will see Ted Phillips Astro Advisor website, you may want to check him out for is insights.

And I recently had someone send me a link to the Optional Signal Service.
Very interesting.

Playing out the rest of Virgo Moon

We have a little less than a week left of our Virgo Lunar cycle, let's take a look at what's coming up:

Balsamic Moon Phase
September 24 1:13am EDT

Balsamic: We release. We let go. We prune, we discard, we ditch stuff. We house clean. The things that no longer work, we let them out of our life. We release so we can clear our unconscious and dream. We prepare our unconscious to be ready for the next

Focus on
We release our ego. We release our need to be ‘big shot.’ We let go of the need to be the center of attention in our family, in our neighborhood, in our groups and in your world at large. Where is your ego keeping back your efficiency?

Special focus:

9/25: Mercury enters Libra http://astrology.about.com/od/mercury/p/MercuryLibra.htm

Given Venus and Sun in Libra brought loss and pain, we should assume the same with Mercury's entrance into Libra. Watch and see what happens to communication. Rhetoric will be high and volatile.

9/25: Sun/Uranus: Missteps, Zigging when you should zag, ego blow ups
This is the opposition we were talking about in the previous post. Relationships have a hard time finding their rudder. The boat seems very rocky.

New Moon is September 27, 7:08am

Libra...a rock and a hard place....

Yesterday the stock market in the United States took a tumble. I haven't turned on today's news but I'm sort of assuming another assault is taking place as I know it did in Asia last night. What is going on?

Well as we know Venus moved into Libra last week and upon arrival it began its tension with Uranus and Pluto. For those of you who don't quite understand squares and oppositions, let me give you a visual. Pretend you are facing a clock. At the 12 oclock let's put Pluto. On the 3 o'clock let's put Uranus. And as you remember from 8th grade geometry---they make a complete 90 degree right angle, correct?

Now, at this time of the year we have the faster planets, Sun, Mercury, Venus moving into Libra like they do every year around in the Fall Months. And they are all coming in on the 9 clock. So, they are opposite the 3 o'clock (Uranus) and they are the other right angle to the 12 (pluto).

We call this aspect a T Square.

Last week it was Venus who went in and activated the T Square. I wrote about how I saw the tension being played out in space and air travel. But of course, Venus also rules money and values.

Then on Wednesday, the Sun entered Libra and it now was beginning to get into T Square formation and we have got the air going out of the stock market again with talk of Double Dip. The question is will it gain momentum next week?

I gotta say, I'm not so sure. I'm in the middle of drafting my Libra New Moon article and it is a fairly skanky moon. Because on the New Moon those Tsquares are everywhere influencing the 28 day cycle.

We are in a tough period. If you know your chart, you should pay attention to the areas of your chart around 3 or 4 degrees, Aries, Libra and Capricorn. If you have a planet at 3 or 4 degrees of Cancer that too is important.

What do you do when you are between a rock and a hard place? Keep calm. Keep very calm.

What is up....must go ??????

Well, you would have to be living under a rock not to have noticed the news about airplane crashes this weekend.

On Friday, a crash at the Reno Air Show resulted in 9 dead and many injured. Then yesterday at an Air Show in West Virginia another plane crashed killing the pilot.

Then there is news that a NASA Satellite the size of a school bus will be crashing to Earth sometime later in the week.

What is going on to stir all this aeronautical action? My sense is that the activity started to gain momentum when Venus entered Libra on the 15th. As soon as she entered Libra she started to dig into it with Uranus at 3 degrees Aries. Uranus rules aviation. New technology is always Uranus and a hundred years ago, when Uranus was in Sagittarius the Wright I had a successful launch off Kitty Hawk. By the way, the Moon was in Sag that day giving some nice tail winds that helped change history.

Now with Uranus in Aries we certainly will see many changes to Aviation and other technologies. But as Uranus continues to take a hit from Pluto (between now and 2016) we should watch for other planets to create an inciting incident. In this case, Venus going into Libra and activating both Uranus and Pluto might be too much pressure.

Watch the skies above, there could be more cuckoo.

And by the way, when that satellite hits earth, perhaps I can suggest a target? (see photo).

How's Pluto feeling these days?

After a 5 month retrograde, Pluto turned direct on Friday.

I spoke about Pluto turning direct back on the Virgo New Moon.

And on September 16 Pluto will end its retrograde and turn direct. Again, do you see a theme? Let’s go over it---The Sun and Moon in Virgo are in a grand trine with Jupiter and Pluto and then Jupiter turns retrograde and then later Pluto ends its retrograde and turns direct. Both planets from the grand trine make direction changes? Wow.

We are definitely put on notice to pay attention! Globally, Pluto in Cap is overhauling our businesses and our governments. Personally our own leadership is being challenged. Meaning, are we leading where we need to lead? Or are we spinning our wheels? Are we leading our family but they aren’t listening? Are we leading our community but they have a deaf ear?

Or maybe we are looking off in the future and we can see we should come up with Plan B. Pluto wants to help shed any fears and sometimes does it ruthlessly. However, the positive energy of the grand trine will support us in releasing any fears we about a Plan B. Remember, to come up with Plan B means that we have assessed that Plan A is showing wear and tear. Here’s where the dexterity of Virgo is helpful, perhaps some of us have stuck to Plan A even when it is no longer serves us. Virgo’s willing to work and his shrewd eye gives us confidence to come up with a new plan for our future.

I was poking around and saw a nice little write up about Pluto over here at VirgoMagic.

Go to the link for the whole write up. But here is a snippet.

Pluto in Capricorn (2008-2024) specifically stirs up themes around commitment, integrity, responsibility, time, career, ambition, success and worldly power. What are you really committed to, and what are you responsible for? Are you devoting time and energy to what you say you’re committed to? Is your work in the world aligned with your soul’s mission? What does success mean to you, and what are you willing to do to achieve it?

As Pluto stations — appears to stand still in the sky before changing directions — these themes come into focus. And as Pluto starts moving forward again, it’s time to take action on the truths that you’ve uncovered during this Retrograde. Yes, feel those icky feelings that arise, grieve the past, forgive yourself and others — and then move on. Capricorn is an uber-pragmatic Earth sign, and Pluto in Capricorn wants you to simply take the next step toward your goals.

Lutin and his parrot

I do love Michael Lutin.

But is there anyone who can tell me who is singing (Edith Piaf, maybe?) and what is the song?

It did make me laugh.

Mars in Leo

September 18th - November 11

Over at RubySlipper, there was a nice write up on Mar's upcoming move. I know I spoke of it in my new moon but it is always nice to read another astrologer's take.

Mars moves into Leo on September 18th and what a relief that will be. He was not happy being all cramped and moody in Cancer. When he busts out into Leo his energy will increase and stabilize. Everyone will feel this shift.

Leo’s love of life will boost Mars’ confidence, charm, focus and playfulness. Fiery and fixed, Leo gives Mars all the fuel he needs to express himself while anchoring his energy with the assurance that everything will work out. Mars in Leo will strive to be number one while rising above petty power struggles and vindictiveness.

There’s always a shadow side, however. If Mars in Cancer was the child sulking in the corner, Mars in Leo is the brat stomping around the playground when he doesn’t get his way. Assertion (Mars) and ego ( Leo) combine to create an energy that will not be denied. The good thing is you never have to guess when Mars in Leo is displeased.

He’ll be trining Uranus in Aries (the sign he rules) from September 18th to 22nd. These will be key dates to make something happen, especially if you have planets or angles in Leo or Aries from 0-3 degrees. Uranus will push past Leo’s stubbornness to create some wildly innovative energy. You can step outside your comfort zone without falling flat on your face. The trine blends risk (Uranus) and initiative (Mars) in a way that will not create static with others.

The 9/11 Memorial - Aquarius Moon

I was watching the 9/11 We Remember tribute this morning. Of course it was very tender and moving. I watched the non hosted show so I didn't have to hear anchors blathering on. I just wanted to watch the raw feed to get the real feel for the event.

The Aquarius Moon of the day was so evident. Remember, Aquarius is where we connect as a group. It is the sign of 'like minded' groups. Everyone there was connected in pain. But I saw something else that was so Aquarius. The people who read the names were all walks of life. Parents, children, cousins, brothers, sisters and from all over the world. New Jersey to Japan people came from everywhere. And up there on the stage reading the names, there would be a young son, maybe as little as 10 next to an older lady who lost her child and more than once I saw the speakers reach out to offer support. I was moved by the young teen who lost his brother, reach out to help the 40 year old widow speak of her husband. It was an event about humanity.

People coming together ---perfect Moon in Aquarius. It is also fitting that the United States has Moon in Aquarius.

The Week Ahead

9/12: Full Moon (see previous post)

9/12:Mercury/Pluto: Insightful, penetrating thinking. Exacting communications. Changes in thinking have profound insights.

9/14: Venus enters Libra http://cafeastrology.com/articles/venuslibracompatibility.html
Psst…we may be less critical of partners after a month of nagging.

9/14: Mercury/Jupiter: Jovial thoughts, good natured discussions, a bit loud but trying to remain optimistic. Watch the wallet!

9/ 16: Pluto turns direct . A once a year event we wake up feeling repurposed. Charged. Since April we have felt muddled now we can do the moves we need. What have we learned since Spring about our own power? See New Moon article for more Pluto insights.

9/17:Venus/Uranus: Money and love breakthroughs that look odd and strange
Are you open to weird? Or must everything be on the straight and narrow? Open up today for a bit of the weird.

9/18: Mars enters Leo http://astrology.about.com/od/thebirthchart/qt/MarsLeo.htm
Our hearts are pumping again. We have been in our heads so much it is nice to get invigorated again.

9/18: Venus/Pluto: Stressed money, values feel tweaked, love of power. A trying aspect that makes us feel vulnerable. Do something you can control like declutter a room etc. The rest that you can’t control? Let it go.

Pisces Full Moon

Pisces Full Moon
September 12, 2011 5:26AM EDT

The last moment of the waxing moon is our arrival at the Full Moon. For two weeks we have been working hard, focused on details and perhaps a wee bit more focused on the micro than the macro. Now on the Pisces Full Moon we look up from our work station and see what is around us. Is it inspiring? Is it artistic? Is it magical? Is it compassionate? Pisces is the last water sign of the zodiac and ruled by Neptune which is the higher octave of Venus. Both planets connect to love. Venus rules the things we love that are right near us, our lovers, our children, our art and our values. But with Neptune (and Pisces) the love is stretched and speaks to our love of humanity, our spirituality, our visions and dreams.

Full Moons have a tendency to bring out big emotions and on this there is a trine with Mars in Cancer which has us double down in feelings. Both water signs put the accent on flow and given this is a positive aspect we will all benefit by “Release” and “Let go”. Mars is a pump and he is there to serve the feelings but like a traffic cop he says, “Keep it moving.” We will not hang on to our emotions and build resentments. Perhaps we will hear from others that we have been working so hard or dealing with micro this and micro that we have gotten out of synch with our family (Cancer) and our roots. We may have a few tears but the key is to let them flow which alleviates any resentments and allow us to reach a deeper connection to those people who have cared enough to share their feelings.

We are also benefited by Mercury trine Pluto which will open up our brains. If we have had muddled thinking on a subject then this full moon could enlighten us. Something may come up in these three days which gives new clarity. Our new thinking could be a game changer.

A wonky aspect is Venus in conjunction with the Sun opposing Moon in Virgo again puts the emphasis on our values. The tension may have impact on world currencies and stock markets.

There is a tough aspect on full moon between the Sun and the Moon with the North Node in Sagittarius. Righteous zealotry, bigots, and a Professorial know-It- all might be in the news. Where the rubber hits the roads is when strong philosophies or opinions are challenged by real life details (Virgo). This is the aspect that can bring out the misguided, delusional and surreal part of Pisces. If someone is acting crazy around you---get out of the way and let them be crazy on someone else’s watch. In the meantime you go hang out with someone decent.

Hugs will be well appreciated this full moon.

Art for Heart

In honor of Moon in Capricorn conjunct Pluto---I thought it would be nice to offer up something healing. And as we approach the 10th anniversary of 9/11, well that seems ripe for additional healing.

I just purchased ART FOR HEART for my son's school. This is a book of drawings and painting done by children directly impacted by the events of 9/11.
In Art for Heart, the innocence so profoundly disrupted that day is nowhere better demonstrated than in the words and drawings created by children following the attacks. Straightforward and heartfelt, these works reveal the human instinct to bear witness, provide comfort, and attempt to make sense out of the unthinkable.

All the proceeds will go to the National September 11 Museum.

Consider buying a book for your local library or for your child's school library.

Look up.....NYC

I found this today and wanted to share with you.

This Week Ahead

Astrologically, this week is somewhat quiet and I say, "Hurray" after all we have had a long slog of tough aspects all summer so let's enjoy a breather when we get it!

Of course Pluto is slowed down all month as he prepares to reverse direction on September 16. Last week's dismal job report, the volatility in the European banks and the ripple effect in our own stock market feel very much tied to the stationary Pluto in Cap. Let's see how things shake and move after the 16th.

9/5: I don't normally go into all the lunar sign changes and interplanetary aspects but I do want to note the Moon enters Capricorn at 10:04pm (ED) and early in the morning it gets into it with Uranus and Pluto. If you wake up on Tuesday in one of 'those' moods---blame the moon.

9/8: Mercury opposition Neptune: Not all that is said is true and certainly not accurate. Delay signing anything important.

9/9: Mercury enters Virgo http://astrology.about.com/od/mercury/p/MercuryVirgo.htm

9/9: Mercury semi square Saturn. Delay. Hard to put stuff into words. Mentally feeling insecure. Not hideously so but enough to slow us down.
9/11Venus/Mars: Fun and lively energy. Play and playfulness accented.
