Jupiter enters Cancer June 9

Jupiterthe biggest planet of the zodiac with the greatest gravitational pull leaves Gemini on June 9^th and enters Cancer.    

Jupiter spends one year in each sign and the last time Jupiter was in Cancer was 2013-2014 (June to July) and before that 2001-2002 (July – Aug).     You may want to consider what was going on in your life at those times and if there are any similar themes speaking to you as Jupiter treks through Cancer now.    

 

Jupiter is exalted in Cancer meaning it does well in this sign and its natural buoyancy can be helpful.  Cancer speaks to family, childhood, emotions and home.    Jupiter can go long on being helpful and philosophical and in the sign Cancer it is sentimental.   The bold brash Jupiter energy can pivot to a sudden need for coziness.   Protecting family and country is spiked in a Jupiter Cancer year.   Everyone hugged their family a little tighter in the earlier pass of Jupiter in Cancer on September 11.    Patriotism also ruled by Cancer jumped up and many entered the military right after 9/11 and would later serve in the war in Iraq which by that point Jupiter was in Leo stoking a heroic call.

 

Jupiter is big.  You know that red spot on Jupiter?   It’s a big ass storm with winds estimated to be traveling 270 miles per hour and it is twice the size of earth.    And that is just one small circle on Jupiter.    Thus, when Jupiter goes into a sign it brings a lot of big strum and drang.   Cancer is the first water sign and long on emoting.  Cancer is the shore where tides come in and tides go out and waves crash on the sand in huge pounds or fold on the beach in calm rhythm laps.   These are our emotions, loud and noisy then calm and centered.   Now with Jupiter is in Cancer it gets ginned up.   Even the calm can feel loud.   Finding equilibrium can be a challenge in a Jupiter Cancer year but it is not impossible.   

 

We will get the challenged right away because after it enters Cancer, Jupiter heads to two important aspects.  

On the 15^th, we get the final round of Jupiter square Saturn.   This aspect started last August, with a second hit in December.  In the USA, this aspect is tied to last year’s election and Donald Trump win.  In round one and two, the signs activated were water Pisces and air Gemini.  Now in this final round we have watery Cancer and fiery Aries.   Something hot and steamy will probably grab headlines.  It may involve politics, or it may not.  It probably will be…(drumroll).. big.  (There’s that Jupiter operative word). When Cancer and Aries misbehave, they both can be petty.   There could be something disappointing that activates an angry response.   However, keeping cool is a strength of Saturn and finding philosophy is the work of Jupiter.   For people who have planets at zero, one and two degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn this tension could be more profound for you than the hits last year in August in December.  Given this is all happening in the Gemini lunar month, remember you will probably benefit if you ask, “How do I need to adapt, pivot or flex?    

 

On June 18^th Jupiter makes a square with Neptune.  This aspect is interesting.  The last time Jupiter squared Neptune was in 2019 which it did three times in mid Pisces and Sagittarius.    Now we have only one exact hit and like Saturn above, it is in the signs Cancer & Aries. Given Neptune has just moved into Aries and has not had any outer planet aspects it is hard to say what this square will present. It is an expansion of emotions meets something mystical, psychological and unworldly.   The last time Neptune was in Aries was 1861.   Neptune is not great for reality checks; it is more in the business of inspiring people than a proper accounting and assessment.  Jupiter can go long in big ideas and big enthusiasm but in Cancer happy emotions can be, too big or crabby emotions too dire.   Finding the middle is very challenging.   In an ideal world Saturn who is also in relationship with Neptune and Jupiter will mute any of the extreme feelings.   But for sure, between June 9 and June 18, things could be emotional and janky.    Just remember we have Cancer Jupiter for a whole year so whatever comes up now that is annoying is not the whole picture and we will have other opportunities to tap that are good.

 

One final note about Jupiter in Cancer.  Next month Uranus will enter Gemini.   We have not experienced that Uranus ingress since 1941.  Things are about to speed up, which sounds insane given everything already feels like it is moving at lightspeed.   But when this transit begins, we will no doubt be moving so fast we are going to need to call upon our gut to give us ballast.   Which is auspicious since big old loud Jupiter in Cancer, is at the end of the day, the planet of judgement and in THE sign of the gut could be the real gift.

Neptune in Aries --- Boats Seeking Independence!

 

I do not know what to say but it appears to me that Neptune in Aries is sending a message to ships --"Go now be independent!"  

How this Norweigian guy could sleep through this cargo container ship landing in his backyard lawn is amazing.   The captain by the way was also sleeping.   Sleep very much a part of Neptune's skills.  

Of course a couple days earlier a ship in NYC, on a goodwill mission from Mexico went adrift and hit the Brooklyn Bridge.    People on the shore were stunned as they watched it head for the bridge.  Not sure why someone hadn't stopped the drivers on the bridge.  

And there was also a nuclear powered destroyer in North Korea who on its launch decided, "Yeah, not going to do that"  and rolled down and sank partly in the drink.  

Neptune really having some action in his new ingress.

Welcome to Gemini Lunar Month.   

 

Are you ready to get movin’?   Earth bound Taurus is over.  Airy Gemini is now.   We all are playing with our busy box during the 29-day Gemini cycle.   Pull this lever, twist that knob, our curiosity is high in Gemini, and it leads us into all kinds of places, people and situations.    This is the cycle where we mix-it-up! 

 

Duality 

Gemini’s Greek myth is of twin brothers with different fathers.  One father a god and the other a mortal. Because they have different temperaments and different opinions, they each produce different decisions.  When the mortal twin died his brother asked to share his own immortality.  The request was granted, and they are tied together for eternity.   

 

People with a Sun in Gemini live this duality.   Their inner twins are always debating.  “Oh, you are doing that?  Interesting, I think I would do this.”   Compare and contrast is part of the Gemini process.  They need to talk about their thoughts with friends, colleagues and anyone who can offer an opinion.  A common Gemini phrase is “Do you know what I mean?”  Connecting is critical for Gemini.  As the first air sign, Gemini is in the relating business.    They are always looking for their “twin” to talk stuff down.   During this 29-day lunar month we will be out and about, looking, sharing, processing all kind of info.  We are in the connecting business and will be wanting to get feedback.  

 

The Great Pivot

For all our processing, this is however not necessarily the lunar month of commitment given the Gemini energy is likely to say yes and then say no. They may be clear, “Yes I will be there.”   And then they send the text, “Hey something came up.”   It can be frustrating dealing with Gemini’s legendary fickleness.   But there is something valuable for all of us to glean during this cycle, we learn one of Gemini’s greatest skills---the pivot.....

Every astrologer on planet earth, including me,  has been writing about it for months (years in some cases).   Here's my last write up on it.  

In the fall it will return to Pisces for a few months (during Saturn's retrograde period) which will be ten lifetimes from now.   I am sure we will welcome the respite from fire back to water then.   In the meantime, get out of the way, the boss is here, start working.

There is much I enjoy about astrology, but one fact stands out above the rest which is the reality that astrology is always evolving.    When technology advances so does astrology.   New powerful lenses, improved telescopes (both on land and in space), bring new knowledge and new astro players.  Also, when astrologers share their research and thoughts on new platforms like Zoom, they are shaping and invigorating the collective astrological knowledge bank.  No longer reliant on just books, research papers and perhaps a long flight to a conference or very long phone calls, the information now moves at lightning speed with its accompanying digital download.  

 

Having said that, I would be remiss to not mention that even with all this evolution, it still can take a beat for astrologers to catch up.  Or maybe it is not catch up as much as stuff just needs to unfold for astrologers to pull the information out on what belongs to this new planet.   For example, Pluto was discovered in 1930.  The Neutron was discovered in 1932, and nuclear fusion (splitting atoms) began in 1938.  All of this would ultimately lead to the atomic bomb of 1945, and all of this is connected to Pluto which was for most of that time in the sign Cancer which is loath to expose vulnerability.  Building a bomb would be a big wall against vulnerability.    Then by the time of the Manhattan Project and when the devices were used at the end of World War II, Pluto was in Leo.   Which by any measure was a very big Leo, hear-me-roar event.     Anyway, my point is that it takes a bit of time to figure out what astrological themes belongs to the new planet or planetoid.  

 

Such is the case for me when it comes to “new” planetoids Chiron and Eris.   I use new in quotes because Eris was discovered twenty years ago and Chiron fifty years ago, but I still am finding my way with both of their energies.  To be fair I have a much better handle on Chiron through my own observations in charts.   I also read Barbara Hand Crow’s book  in the late 90s.   And Mountain Astrologer has had a lot of Chiron articles including pieces by  Mary Plumb .   

 

I think on one hand; Chiron was new to all of us but on another hand because he is associated with wounds that don’t heal and/or are self-directed it is easier to track his impact.  It is usually in our face when Chiron shows up.    I had an unusual journey with people I loved during Chiron conjuncting my Venus in 2005 that was out of my power (how perfect Chiron) but my response was healing even if the journey was hard.    In 2024 Chiron’s trek in Aries square to my natal moon was tied to the decline of my 91-year-old mother’s health which again, I had limited control but my response healed very super old  generational wounds.   I have written about Chiron in my new moon reports and on this blog because after the last thirty years I feel some knowledge.    

 

As for Eris, when it was discovered in 2005, I was up to my eyeballs in Chiron stuff and I had no energy to dive in her new planetoid astrological potential.    Since then, I have bumped into Eris articles that I found interesting, but I was still not ready for a huge dive.  Such was the case until recently.   Various astrologers, who I respect, were talking a lot about the first pass of Chiron Eris conjunction on May 26^th2025.   Eric Francis at PlanetWaves has been writing about it for a couple of years.   And Rick Levine has brought it up in a few of his videos including his May report.     My journey into researching and tracking Eris has just started but I have to say I really found Tamsin St. George  Eris & Chiron video very informative.   

 

For background: Eris is the goddess of chaos, discord and strife, much is made of the fact that Eris and her unruly behavior (especially when people lie) made her unwelcomed to a wedding where all the gods were in attendance.  To get even for the snub, Eris threw an apple made of gold with the words “For the Fairest of All” into the middle of the party.   Aphrodite, Athena and Hera fought for the apple since each thought they were the ‘fairest’.    This fight eventually led to the Trojan War when Paris was asked to decide who should get the apple and he picked Aphrodite.   Rut-ro.     I think Tamsin does a good job unpacking this myth and for as much as Eris is a shit starter she has arguably some reason for her anger. A theme also picked up by astrologer Christina Rodenbeck.    

Tamsin goes into the charts of discovery for Eris and Chiron and notes they share connections with each other in their charts.  There is also a tie into Saturn.  This is interesting because this conjunction takes place the day after Saturn begins its new zodiacal journey entering Aries.   By the way,  Eris has been in Aries since 1922 does not exit until 2040s.  Chiron moves into Taurus in 2026.  

 

I also appreciated Tamsin’s connecting the MeToo movement with Eris.   And her dives into the charts of Greta Thumberg and Giselle Pelicot with very strong Eris placements.     There is a lot to take in with Tamsin’s video but very much worth watching.    You do not need to watch it now before the 26^th because this Chiron Eris landscape will be here all year since there are three total dates of conjunction between now and next spring.    

 

I thought it was interesting for me that I was watching the video when I got word of the explosion at the fertility clinic in Palm Springs.  The act was done by a young man with nihilist ideations.  

 

“Ideas espoused on the website with the recording about plans to bomb an I.V.F. clinic are associated with an obscure movement that both promotes death and discourages creation of new life, said Brian Levin, professor emeritus and founder of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino.”

 

Sigh.   I thought of Eris and Chiron and the healing we all need to do to help our planet and other humans.    hugs  Tracy

And here we are.   Saturn enters Aries.  Another piece of the puzzle is put in place that makes 2025/26 an extraordinary astrological year.  

 

Every 29 years Saturn transits a sign and the last time it was in Aries was between April 7, 1996, through Jun 9, 1998.  Then after a retrograde it finalized its trip in Aries October 25, 1998 – Feb 28, 1999.   You may want to consider what was going on in your life at that time to see if there are any themes that might be repeated this year.   Or if the stuff that came then is not possible now (e.g. entering college, having a baby) can you pull wider and consider a bigger theme (maybe college or parenthood theme then is a new adventure in responsibility now)?   

 

Because Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and Pisces is the last sign, Saturn’s move into Aries will no doubt announce itself in some way to us as a release and or a goodbye.  Something may feel done, completed or just in need of a serious pause.  Saturn rules limitations, boundaries and Aries is new territory, new paths and independence.   Saturn leaving watery Pisces welcomes the heat of Aries.   “Enough with the tears, let’s get going.”   This is roughly a two and half/three-year process so we will be doing a lot with Saturn’s transit in Aries.    Saturn will retrograde in the summer and return to Pisces in fall which gives us an opportunity to reconnect with our intuitive and humanitarian compassionate self.   It will be our last touchstone to our inner mystic.  If we have pushed things too far in our Aries bravado, we may tweak it after the Saturn retrograde.   

 

Once Saturn enters Aries on May 24^th it will head for a conjunction with Neptune at zero Aries.   This conjunction will be felt long before its exact date of Feb 20, 2026.  In July it will get super close and despite a retrograde of both planets, they never get that far from each other even when they both return to Pisces.   

In some form or another we will see the themes of the conjunction revealed all year.   For a point of reference, previous conjunctions were: 

November 21, 1952, May 17 1953, July 21 1953 (Libra)

March 3, June 23, November 13 1989 (Capricorn) and our current one Feb 20, 2026 (Aries).   

 

 

What makes this conjunction of Saturn and Neptune different than the usual conjunctions is that it has only one exact date.   Which is interesting that we only get one bite of the apple.   But also, these two have not formed a conjunction at zero Aries at any time in the last five thousand years.   So, we have no historical references.   Gulp.  We may have only our intuition to guide us and perhaps that is why we spent March and April with Mercury and Venus going back and forth over zero Aries and late Pisces multiple times.  What did we learn about our intuition?   How did it sharpen up?   What is it telling us now?  What prompts did we feel about new beginnings?  Saturn at zero Aries is telling everyone, “I’ve brought my tools, let’s get to work.”  

  

I have been writing about Saturn/Neptune a lot for the last year, and last month’s Aries report I was very detailed.   Having said that I think it is good for readers to get other points of view on this extraordinary period.  Many astrologers have thoughtful takes on this period.  Astrologers like Jessica Adams and Lady Cazimi are worth reading.   S.J. The Scorpio full moon perfects on May 12 (9:55am PDT) and lasts until May 16 (10:28 am PDT) when the moon transitions to Disseminating Phase.     The chart for the full moon reveals the landscape of the four-day phase.     In this chart, Uranus, the planet of abrupt change is pronounced putting the accent on change, topsy-turvy, bordering on perhaps chaos and or boundaries getting pushed or shoved by out-of-the-blue factors.    The unexpected colors these four days.  

 

Starting in 2018, all Scorpio full moons were put on notice that for eight years they may have an opposition with Uranus which began its transition in Taurus.   Since then, the Scorpio full moons of May 2023 and April 2021 had Moon - Uranus opposition and now this full moon will be the last Scorpio full moon opposing Uranus in Taurus for 80 years.     The question is; what can Scorpio full moon learn from Uranus?    Scorpio is strong, determined and resolute on what it needs to accomplish any task.  Where it fails is if it is holding on too tight to some pattern or plan or behavior that may have worked fine at one point in the past but now it is outdated.    On this full moon it is possible, tasks can’t be accomplished because something is ‘off’.    Problems pop up, not planned and the key is using creativity, novelty and a willingness…….hold for it…to change.   

 

The emotions in a Scorpio full moon run deep.   Fear around losing control can be paramount.    To that fear, Uranus laughs, “Who says you have control of anything?”  then Uranus shakes stuff up.  If we are willing, we can see some flaws to our previous thinking and as we clean up a mess, we should consider there could be some opportunities coming forward with new approaches. 

 

Of course, Scorpio has questions as well, including, “How’s my plumbing?”    Scorpio rules the pipes that bring in the fresh and the pipes that take away the debris.  Never should those pipes be confused.    Scorpio is not just the plumbing in our buildings it is also the pipes in our bodies, yep it pushes out the poop.   But going wider, where are we holding on to toxicity?    If we have toxic beliefs perhaps, we take this full moon to drill down on how got here.  Is it based on something from our past?   Now might be the time to flush it out the pipe.   If we have any reactions to others that brings out toxicity in us or in them, is it time to make changes?    Perhaps Uranus will disrupt something enough to get our attention that it is time to do something new and find fresh.      

 

An hour after the full moon launches Mercury the planet of communication, thinking, writing & news,  forms a square with Pluto.  This happens twice a year which can exaggerate our thinking, sharpen our criticism and could amplify insecurities and paranoia.    This tough aspect is juicing up the full moon because Scorpio is ruled by Pluto.   How does one tap power when one’s thoughts go dark?    Again, remember the pipes…what needs to be flushed out?     The good news is the full moon is only a few days long and we will start to feel the energy dissipate once we move into Disseminating but still take a lesson from this full moon and recognize tapping power is an evolving process, it is not always doing the same old same old.    Flush out that thinking!

 

Adding support to this full moon is a beautiful trine from the Moon and Saturn and a sextile from the Sun and Saturn.    With Saturn, we are in the business of building something up from the ground that makes sense.  We are interested in tossing out the broken.  We are super practical about what needs to happen to tap our power and at the same time lean into the mystical (Pisces).   A great full moon to pursue creative projects that need a little faith.  

 

Globally, around the 2023 full moon, the FDIC seized First Republic bank, a dust storm caused havoc and many drivers were killed in Illinois.   The writers guild went on strike, the first time since 2007.   The earth had volatility.  Earthquake (China) Avalanche (Nepal) floods in Italy and Congo.   25,000 residents of Alberta evacuated due to fire.  In April 2021 55 people were killed on a border dispute in Central Asia.   Let’s see if any of those themes repeat with this full moon.
