Full Moon – Cancer

The Full Moon in Cancer draws us into our emotional body.
But it also asks a question: What are our emotions telling us and what are our feelings telling us?
There’s a useful distinction here. As Center for Women explains, emotions are immediate, bodily responses—fear, relief, a rush of happiness. They move fast and travel through the nervous system. Feelings, on the other hand, are the meanings we assign to those sensations. They’re the quieter interpretations: I have a strange feeling about this, I feel I can trust her, something feels off about that story.
During a Cancer full moon, we are long on both. The volume is up.
This lunation is also a study in oppositions. The Moon in Cancer pulls us toward home, memory, privacy, and emotional safety. We lean toward doing what our inner world is asking. Across the sky, the Sun in Capricorn reminds us of obligations, timelines, and responsibilities to the world beyond our front door. We may want to retreat, but we’re also being called to show up. Oh, the rub!
That tension intensifies with Venus and Mars in Capricorn opposing the Moon. Must everything require effort? Must every interaction be productive? Must every interaction be so dang practical? The answer seems to be yes. But not before we have an inner life that can sustain it. Aren’t you sick of performative acts?
About twelve hours after the full moon, the Moon meets Jupiter in Cancer. This is an important shift. Jupiter wants growth, meaning, and expansion but in Cancer, staying home is going big. Nourishment, safety, and emotional honesty become the source of confidence, not indulgence.
The message is clear: We do have to participate in the world in some way. But if we’re not connected to the cozy, protected place in our own heart, then what are all those interactions built on?
Remember, this full moon is still part of the Sagittarius lunar cycle that began on December 17. We’re still clarifying our aims. What we believe in, what we’re willing to stand for, and where we’re fighting the righteous fight that aligns with our principles ----this is THAT lunar month. Under this Cancer full moon, the spotlight reminds us we must turn inward to self-worth.
If we’re claiming values or goals that don’t match our private reality, we risk hypocrisy, performing belief rather than living it.
So, on this first full moon of the year:
check in with your emotions,
listen carefully to your feelings,
get honest about what matters,
and then go slay some dragons.
You’ll recognize them.
They’re right there on your front porch.

Dne 6.sredozimca 2024 je spodnja hiša še stala, ker sem jo videl skozi gozd, da še stoji. Dne 13.sredozimca 2024 je spodnja hiša bila že podrena. Dne 20.sredozimca 2024 pa umre spodnja protiovčerejska diktatorka. Oba dogodka v istem koledarskem mesecu. Ne gre za naključje, božji dokaz, da na to kmetijo stoprocentno spadajo ovce in pečena jagnjetina.
