Gibbous — Refining the Process

We refine our information. We pick and choose, discriminate, and organize. This is the phase where we become a bit “Virgo-like.” We sort through details and ask whether something has been overlooked. Adjustments are made. Plans are refined. The goal is not to abandon the seed but to improve how it is unfolding.

Creative/Science Process: Editing and refinement.

 

Focus on:  How are you refining the groups you belong?  How are you fine tuning your role in friendships?  What details did you learn on the new moon that impact your friends and groups?   What details are you learning about your friends?

9/22: Sun in Libra.   Happy Autumnal Equinox.  

9/25: Sun oppose Neptune (2 AR 59)  Fuzzy.  Game may feel off or disconnected. Finding inspiration can be challenging.  

9/25: Sun trine Pluto (3 AQ 09) Friends and groups are ringing their bells.   Hanging out with others may be what the doctor ordered.

 First Quarter — Taking Action

Now we act on the information we received. We pursue the idea again. What hurdles have appeared involving the seeds you planted at the New Moon? We make another call, reach out to someone, mail something, or stir the pot again. Sometimes this phase reveals that the goals we planted require more effort from us. Independence may need to be asserted. Others may resist our growth, even if they believe they have our best interests at heart.

Hero’s Journey: Crossing the threshold and committing to the journey.
Creative/Science Process: Commitment — the work begins.

 

Focus on:   How can you take actions that broaden your goals that you set on new moon?   What does it look like to lean into the broader perspective and move on it?   Any details that you found on new moon how can they bridge you to another world now?

9/21: Mercury sextile Jupiter (17 Leo 55) Fun ideas and thoughts that are inspired and generous bring freshness to partnerships and or bring balance.

Crescent — Gathering Information

We begin to receive information. We research a bit more and perhaps get feedback on the seeds we planted at the New Moon. Sometimes we receive clues about what we set in motion. Even if you think nothing is happening, stop and look again. Who called you? What conversation happened? Even the smallest or most mundane events during this phase can contain a message. A parking ticket. An argument with a spouse. A refund check from the phone company. Pay attention. What information is arriving and how can it help?

Hero’s Journey: The hero begins exploring the unknown and gathering allies.

Creative/Science Process: Research — gathering information and materials.

Focus on: What are you learning about death and rebirth? What are you learning about the power of shedding? What are you learning that speaks to extremes? What are you learning about going deep?

Planetary notes:

9/14: Sun sextile Mars (22 CA 01) Actions that are practical and emotionally satisfying are easy to access today.

9/15: Venus square Pluto (3 AQ 16) The love of power and the power of love could be twisted up. Values may be shifting and release might be needed.

9/15: Neptune sextile Pluto (3 AQ 16) (see separate)

9/17: Chiron re-enters Aries (see above)

9/18: Mercury opposite Saturn (12 AR 32) Who is the person in your way of what you think you want? The timing may be slowed down, but that doesn't mean it is off.

This phase lasts until 9/18 1:43pm PDT when First Quarter Phase begins.  

New Moon Sound Bath in Griffith Park This Thursday

Samantha’s Sound Bath is this Thursday, Sept. 10 at 6:30 at the old LA Zoo area in Griffith Park.

Seems like a perfect way to ring in the Virgo New Moon on a day that also has Mercury enter Libra, Venus enter Scorpio and Uranus station retro.

That’s a lot of astrological sounds.

A nice sound bath may ring that perfect bell for you. 🔔

 

Tracy's Astro Salon Is Now on Substack, Too

 

Well, I finally did it.

Tracy's Astro Salon now has a Substack.

I'm not leaving Blogger. There are years and years of astrology posts here and I will continue to post shorter pieces, planetary observations and whatever else strikes me.

But my longer astrology reports and essays now have another home. Going forward, the New Moon reports and other longer pieces will be published at Tracy's Astro Salon on Substack.

And the first one is already up.

It's got a lot going on.  Virgo, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, Chiron, an Aries Full Moon and, because apparently, we needed one more thing, Venus retrograde.
