Aries New Moon #1 - March 21, 2023 at 10:23am PDT

This is our first Aries New Moon of 2023

March 21, 2023

10:23am PDT

0 Aries 49

We are entering the new Pluto in Aquarius Era with quite a bang.

Aries New Moon #1 on March 21, Pluto enters Aquarius March 23 and Mars finally exits Gemini entering Cancer on the 25th.     None of this subtle.

Welcome to the beginning of the Aries New Moon (#1) and the launch of the new lunar zodiacal year.  We have a lot to look forward to as we head into uncharted waters with Pluto's transition into Aquarius where it will be from 2024-2043.

You can read my report about this new moon at my friend and colleague Margaret Wendt's website.

I hope you will make a Treasure Map.  This is THE year to do it.  Don't skip it this year.  Lots of opportunities this  year and it starts with your map.

No foolin' around, the energy is there for you to get your visions on for what you want in your life.  Let's do it!

Treasure Map Season is Upon Us! Two Bites at the Apple!

Treasure Mappers!

Next week will be our first Aries New Moon in 2023.   Yep, read that twice, we will have two Aries New Moons this year.     Kind of a rare bird.    We had a set of Aries new moons in 2004 and we will have another set in 2053 and that's it for this century.

What does that mean in relation to Treasure Mapping?   I know it is weird, right?  We always make our maps during Aries New Moons.   The window is the waxing moon (between new and full) on the Aries new moon.   Very simple.  Make map then.  If not, then wait until next year to make a map.  Simple.  Easy peasy.    But this year, there is more opportunity which it can be daunting.   Yeah, the universe does that to us, doesn't it?

Anyway, let's go over the basics.

A Treasure Map is a vision board that is made only during Aries New Moon.  When we make our Treasure Map in Aries we will start to see manifestations by Cancer New Moon in the summer.   I have been making Treasure Maps for 27 years with my friends and Treasure Mapper groups and while some years may be more productive than others, they are still very effective.   The process is very powerful.

If you want to know why we make a Treasure Map during Aries New Moons and the history of this process please check out YouTube where I was interviewed by Amanda Walsh at Astrology Hub in February.

I go over in the video the options for the dates but here it is in a nutshell:

Of course you do not begin the process until the new moon launches.  Then you gather your images and either make a physical board or a cyber board.  They both can work.    In terms of laying out your images you can do it in any manner you wish.   A lot of us use the Feng Shui Bagua Grid since it hits all aspects of life.    This assures us we do not have a map that is only focused on one subject (e.g. a map all about money or only about relationship or only about health).

What do we do between now and Treasure Mapping?

We clean our house.    We look at our house and if there is any area that needs tidying, any area that is cluttered, any area that makes us feel bad, we fix it.   We either take things to trash, or we donate or we get it repaired or we recycle it.    We throw out stuff that no longer serves us.  We clear the space of our house, our car, our work, that crazy drawer that is hard to open.   All of it.  Declutter like a crazy person Why?  Because Einstein said no two things can occupy the same space.  So all that stuff in your house that makes you feel icky, that ick we want out so that your head, your psyche and your emotions are ready to tackle the new space of "What do I want?"   "What do I need?"   "What is calling me?"

Also note any thinking that is 'off'.    "Everyone is luckier, healhier, wealthier, better,  ______ fill in the blank .. than me."     All that thinking that marginalizes you and your future, note it and release it.

A lot is going on in the astrological world.   We have Saturn who just entered Pisces for a two year journey and then enters Aries in 2025 which is a whole big change.   In about ten days  Pluto is about to enter Aquarius where it will be back and forth between Capricorn and Aquarius for a couple years tying up all kinds of loose ends and then remain in Aquarius for twenty years.    In 2025 Uranus enters Gemini for a 7 year cycle of thrills and spills.  These are a lot of changes, especially focused on how we relate to others and the groups that we choose to join in some form or fashion.    Who we are when we enter any group depends on a strong understanding of what makes us tick.   This could be the gift of these two Aries New Moons.   By drilling down on our wants and wishes we will deepen our understanding of our values.

Have a great Treasure Mapping Experience.

Balsamic Moon, The Final Days of Balsamic Lunar Year.

Image from Zodiac Arts

Here we are!  The final days of the Pisces New Moon, where we do a big release AND the final days of the Lunar Year that started a year ago at the Aries New Moon of 2022.

On March 21, we will have the first of two Aries new moons.  A rare bird, the last time we had two aries new moons was 2004 and the time before that was 1928.   The next round of Aries new moons will be in 2053 and that will be it for this century.

If you have not made a Treasure Map this is a great year to do it.

You will have two bites at the apple.   I hope you will take this rare opportunity to make a map on either day and run with it.   See separate post

In the meantime between then and now - Release.   And clean your house!

Astrology for March 11 - March 18

March 11, 2023

2:32 am PST

Focus on:   What knowledge about sex, death, transformation, are you sharing or seeking advice?    How are you letting go?  How are you shedding or getting advice on shedding?   How are you sharing with those who need help on those matters?   What needs to be shed to bring more creativity in your daily life?

Special focus:

3/11:  Venus’s sextile Mars.  Money and Love get a fun boost of energy.

3/11: Mercury sextile Uranus.   Creative thoughts.   Breakthroughs in thinking.    Thoughts build new structures.

3/11:  Jupiter conjunction Chiron.    Independence is highlighted.  Either a rush to get it or a rush to share it.   Take care to not throw the baby out with the bathwater in new found energy for number 1.

3/12:  Daylight Savings time launches 2am – spring forward one hour

Last Quarter Moon Phase

March 14, 2023

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense.  And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living “The serenity prayer”

God, grant me the Serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change Courage to change the
things I can, and the
Wisdom to know the difference.

Focus on:

How are you taking actions that broaden your world?  How would you benefit by reaching out to people you maybe normally don’t engage?  What knowledge can you get when you expand your world and how will support your humanitarian nature?

Special focus

3/14:  Mars square Neptune

Mars square Neptune for the third time (Oct 11 and November 19).  Look back on those other dates and see how your actions were either on point or just missed.    Mars in Gemini gathers so much information and moves so quick, but Neptune in Pisces is the great tripper.   Neptune will always say slow down.   Breathe your way through the Mars Neptune tussle.

3/15:  Sun conjunction Neptune.  Fuzzy.  Unclear.  Tap inner mystic to cut through any confusion.

3/16:  Mercury conjunction Neptune.  Meditation will help clear any fuzzy conversation.   Intuition can be tapped.   But not paranoia please.

3/16: Sun Square Mars. Actions feel ‘off’.  Motives feel weird.  Trying to get an even footing is a struggle.  Move slowly is a way to get through it.

3/16: Venus square Pluto.  Love of power or power of love?  What is it?

3/16: Venus enters Taurus.

3/16: Mercury square Mars.  Sharp tongues.  Razor thinking could motivate actions that are cutting.

3/17: Mercury conjunct Sun.  Gentle thoughts, mystical connections.  Finding spirit.

Mars! Finally exits shadow!

On March 15,  Mars will reach 25 Gemini 37 and exit it's shadow.    My god it has felt like an eternity.

On August 20, Mars ingressed into Gemini.  Normally Mars is in a sign for about six weeks but when Mars retrogrades, it extends the planet's time in the sign to around 7 months.    I remember the Mars retrograde in Virgo in the aughts that brought more chaos than any human should handle and I can handle a lot but that one almost broke me.    Coming in a close second is this Mars retrograde in Gemini.   Those mutable Mars ingresses can be an overload to the system, pushing our brains to their limits.    I got through it, for sure and I think I am better for it.  But still it sent a lot of stuff my way for sure.

While we did get relief when Mars stationed direct on January 12  (having been retrograde since October 30).   We have still been dealing with the Mars shadow in Gemini.   I have had so many people ask me, "Is Mercury retrograde?"   I tell them no but there is something else in play that makes you feel like it is.    Mars!

On March 15, Mars will finally cross the shadow point and begin to head to Cancer without all the baggage we have been working on since September 3 when it went into the shadow zone.    Then on March 25, Mars will finally enter Cancer where it will be for a sensible time of about six weeks.

So, let's go back to September 3 (or even August 20 when Mars entered Gemini) and ask some questions. Since that time:

Where have you learned to pivot?
Where have you learned to adapt?
What have you learned about your language?
What editing have you learned when you communicate?
How have you had to pivot in a split second for best results?
What was your mental response to changes?
What have you observed in your war or words?
What have you observed in other's war of words?
How have you managed to catagorize what gets your action and what does not?
Are there any places you need to revisit with an apology?
How are your relationships with your neighbors or siblings changed?

Virgo Full Moon: March 7, 2023

Full Moon

16 Virgo 40

March 7, 2023

4:40am PST

The moon is in Virgo for about 2.5 days of every month.   This is a period when we can be cranky, critical, frustrated and feel like our nerves are frayed.   Sure.   Got it.    But once a year, it is not just a moon in Virgo --it is full moon in Virgo which of course brings extra juice to our crank, frustration and fraying nerves.  First off--breathe.

The Full Moon in Virgo really begs us to get practical.   The Sun in Pisces takes us down so many emotional cul-de-sacs and or rabbit holes.   The Pisces sun can feel lost, and it needs the Virgo full moon to shake some sense into us.    How are our daily habits?  Is our morning shower delayed until  7pm?   How about our to-do list?  Have we deposited the check?   Have we scheduled the follow up appointment with the doctor?  What is the status of our food?  Have we been too lost in dreamland or busy-land?   How have we neglected our physical state and our calendar?    Use the Virgo full moon to get back to the all important “To-Do” list.  Do it to get grounded!

This full moon has a glorious trine with Uranus and a beautiful sextile with the Sun.   When you wake up on March 7, you may get a boost of creativity.  Or something from out of the blue blows in and helps you right yourself.    The sun in Pisces, when it is stuck, can be a bit of a martyr and the moon in Virgo can be like a wound up toy stuck in a corner.   Uranus in Taurus brings practical innovation that will lighten the load either physically or mentally.   We all could benefit by something super practical from out of the blue.  It may come to us from a place of love, one of Taurus’ expertise.

There is a square between Mars in Gemini with both the Sun and the Moon.   Be careful walking and talking.  It is okay to move slow even if you want to go fast.  Think before you speak.  If you can.  Also plan more time to get anywhere.

The Sun in Pisces appreciates kindness.   The Moon in Virgo appreciates being of service.  Mars in Gemini can be brusque.   Take a beat.  Open the door for someone.  Remember your thank yous.   Mars in Gemini does understand the gift of pivoting.   If you are feeling stuck and alone then let Mars in Gemini help you shift your mood.  If Moon in Virgo is double downing in doubt or insecurity, let Mars in Gemini shift the energy by reaching out to someone who brings a fresh perspective.   The mutable signs, Pisces Gemini Virgo and Sagittarius know how to get over something because they don’t have time to be stuck.  Let’s see if Mars can play well with Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo even in a square.   Thankfully Uranus may blunt Mars desire to fight.

An hour after the full moon launches,  Saturn leaves Aquarius and enters Pisces.   Also in Pisces is the planet Neptune.    These two are going to be sharing a sign for the next six years.  First in Pisces then in Aries.    It is interesting that this transit into Pisces is happening on the Virgo full moon.  There is something about Saturn and Neptune that feels, “Eat your peas before you have dessert”.   Which is very similar to the full moon between Virgo and Pisces.   Duty and pleasure ping pong.    You can read more about Saturn in Pisces HERE.

As we head out the waning moon, know that we are down to the last week before Treasure Mapping.    Why don’t you take the full moon to clean your house!
