Special Note

3/1: Venus conjunction Jupiter.   Big values.  Big money.  Big love.  Big big. Optimistic but take care not to over spend or over eat or over big.  Or too much too much-ing.

3/2: Mercury conjunction Saturn.  Thoughts about groups of people.  They either strengthen the group or jettison the group.  Saturn is in his final days of Aquarius, there may be one more thing to think about before he moves on.  See what comes up around this date.

Saturn enters Pisces: March 7, 2023 - May 24, 2025

Saturn enters Pisces.

March 7, 2023 – May 24, 2025

Sep 1 2025 – Feb 13, 2026

Previous Saturn in Pisces

May – June 1993

Jan 1994 – April 1996

Saturn ingress into Pisces is one of the major astrological components for 2023.  Saturn has spent the last six years in signs it rules. First it entered Capricorn in 2017 and then Aquarius in 2020 which it co-rules.    Saturn has comfort in Capricorn and Aquarius, it brings authority to signs that listen or respect him.   But in Pisces who is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune, Saturn’s authority has less to glob on to. Pisces is mutable, hard to wrestle, and Saturn’s trek has mixed results.   In the late 19th century, Saturn was in Pisces for the Great Compromise of 1877.   The Presidential election in November of 1876 resulted in a tie; a compromise was drawn which gave Rutherford Hayes the presidency (GOP) but the southern senators would only agree IF the federal troops were pulled out of the south who had been overseeing the area since the end of the civil war.   Pulling out the federal troops forcibly ended The Reconstruction Era, an era highlighted by freed black men able to vote and be elected to office.   This compromise killed Reconstruction and launched the horrific Jim Crow Era which lasted until the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which, drum roll occurred during Saturn in Pisces.

In the Saturn in Pisces era earlier in the 19th century, we see the California land rush which launched after gold was discovered at Sutter’s Mill in 1848.  Many a prospector arrived in CA, set up a claim and ended up with nothing, of course others went on to set up prosperous businesses and build California.   The 1846-1848 cycle is closer to our period now in 2023 because that round had Neptune and Saturn in Pisces at the same time as we will be experiencing this round.    Curiously, both Sutter’s Mill and the 1877 compromise took place at ten degrees of Pisces.   During the March to Selma in March of 1965 Saturn was also at ten degrees of Pisces.

Pisces rules art and creative movements strengthened during Saturn in Pisces.   Look no further than the Impressionist movement in Paris in the 1870s, the film industry in the 1930s and WWW in the 1990s.  None of those movements started with Saturn in Pisces but they took shape and grew during the transit.  Saturn is the planet of building and strengthening foundations.

Saturn in Pisces by itself is not earth shattering but when you add Pluto ingress into Aquarius at the end of March and in May, Jupiter’s move into Taurus there are lot of changes in 2023.    Also, during the entire transit, Saturn will be chasing Neptune until finally the two will form a conjunction in Feb 2026 at Zero Aries.   This is a big deal in window of big deal aspects and transits.   Watch that space.

Clearly, this Saturn in Pisces cycle can be a Boom or Bust depending on who you are, where you are and your circumstances in general.   For some players like, John Sutter, Rutherford Hayes, Claude Monet and John Lewis they were tapping their own karma and dharma.   Obviously, our own roles will be found for the next two and half years.  But it all starts with finding our own inner radar.  Beep Beep Beep

Last Quarter Moon Phase

February 13, 2023

8:00am

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense.  And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living “The serenity prayer”

God, grant me the Serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change Courage to change the
things I can, and the
Wisdom to know the difference.

Focus on:

How are you taking actions that tap a deep reservoir of power?  What actions can you take that use co-mingled funds or resources?  How would you benefit by letting something die so you can take a new action stimulating growth?  How does this all support your community as defined by you?

Special focus

2/15: Venus conjunct Neptune.  Sweet gentle, a bit unworldly patina to the day.   Love and values get a boost and focus on humanity is highlighted

2/16:  Sun conjunction Saturn.   What does your group or community need?  What can you bring to your friendships that is practical?  How are you responsible to others?

Balsamic Moon Phase

Balsamic:   We let go.  By releasing we can prepare for the new.

Clear the clutter!

As our 2022 Treasure Maps continue to percolate, we now slowly prepare for the 2023 map by clearing out our spaces.
Between now and the Aries New Moon we declutter our homes, our offices, our cars, our spaces. We get rid of piles. We sort, we toss, we file. We take things that are broken to be repaird or to the trash. We look at our stuff and offer it up on Freecycle or Buy Nothing. One year I went through my t-shirts that were too small for me and picked out each one and sent to a friend who i thought would like it. They went in the mail. Then each friend called or texted and many sent photos wearing the shirt. I just 'knew' it would appeal to them. I got so much joy that year.
We clean the beejezus out of our spaces because as Einstein said, "No two objects can occupy the same space". We want clear space by the time we get to Aries new moon so our heads are clear and ready for our maps.
Also our thinking. Think about clearing our thoughts. How many negative thoughts come up, consider releasing those thoughts.
Happy clearing out !

Two Aries New Moons - March & April 2023

Treasure Mapping in 2023
This year is different because there will be two Aries New Moons.  Distilled down; both maps have hurdles and opportunities. I think the approaches that make the most sense to be the following.
OPTION 1
If you know your chart you may choose one map over the other based on the aspects of the Aries new moon and your natal chart. Great.
OPTION 2
If you don’t know your chart you may choose one map over another because one date is just more convenient for you. Great.
OPTION 3
If you do know your chart and either new moon works about the same for you and/or have no restrictions on your calendar you may want to cut out images and build your treasure map starting on the March 21, 10:23am PDT
00 Aries 50. After you finish it , you can call it a day and say, 'I’m done’ and so be it. Great.
OPTION 4
If you do know your chart and either new moon works about the same for you and/or have no restrictions on your calendar you may want to cut out images and build your treasure map starting on the March 21, 10:23am PDT
00 Aries 50. You finish your map. Then in April new moon, you look at your map and you ask yourself if it still feels right? If it does, great. Call it a day. If it does not feel right, you may want to make changes. Or if it really does not feel right then you may even want to ditch it and make a new map.
OPTION 5
Cut out images on March waxing moon. Write affirmations. But do NOT glue anything. Then in April new moon look at those images and affirmations if they still feel right then glue. If you need to add stuff, go for it. You may want to move quickly with your gluing because Mercury turns retrograde on April 21 at 1:34am PDT. If you are not concerned about the Mercury retrograde and taking your time, please be done before May 5, 2023 at 10:34am PDT ---that is the full moon lunar eclipse.

Leo Full Moon Feb 5, 2023

Bonfire from BeachNow

Full Moon

16 Leo 40

February 5, 2023

10:28am PST

Each full moon is the same process.   The moon opposes the sun forming a tug-of-war between the energy of the Sun who is expressing one set of values and the Moon who offers the opposite.  However, it is not right versus wrong, because both signs when distilled down share a commonality.  The gift of the full moon is to synthesize both energies.

This Leo full moon reminds us to find what is special about us individually and at the same time connect to other through our groups.  Leo is the 2nd fire sign and Aquarius is the 3rd air sign.  The big fire roars because of the big oxygen.   It attracts others and can warm the soul of a big group.   At 16 degrees this full moon lands near the middle of Aquarius and Leo.   Aquarius asks us to look at our friends, associations, and groups.    It stretches us beyond family, partners, and work.   What do we make of community?  How do we identify to community?  Is it our knitting club?  Is it our gamer group?  Is it our local political group?   Is it our neighborhood council meeting?   In short, where do we join with others and come together on one theme?  With Leo, the direct opposite is on our mind.  Leo asks, “What makes me special?”   What makes me proud of my skills or creativity?  How am I unique?   Where can I do a victory lap on my efforts?   And of course, the challenge of the full moon is to find our specialness, love it AND bring it to a group whom we care about.   Distilled down Leo and Aquarius Is ---appreciation.   Appreciation of our own skills and appreciation of a group’s skills.  Which of course is a mental take on love.

This full moon has a strong square with Uranus in Taurus seeding the three-day cycle with some stress.  Since 2018 when Uranus moved into Taurus there has been an emphasis on change at the ground level.   At times Uranus has seemed to crack the foundations however they only crack if there are fissures.    Uranus shocks and shakes up, the seen and unseen fissures.   Uranus brings earthquakes and lightning strikes.  While Aquarius likes to get lost in group thought and Leo can get lost in ego, on this full moon Uranus in Taurus will be telling both to knock it off by shaking something in an unexpected manner or location.   There could be a news story that speaks to this shake up.   And certainly, it could show up in a personal experience (especially for people with planets at 15-17 fixed signs).   The response that can help will be long on creativity, with bold, strong actions (Leo) that align and serve others in a group or community (Aquarius) who in turn appreciate the efforts.  Together all three bring a concrete unique solution (Uranus in Taurus).

Additionally, Venus the planet of love, in Pisces and Mars the planet of action, in Gemini are in square; Venus is trying to bring intuition to the 3-day full phase and Mars is bringing logic.   The problem is if Venus is unrealistic, and Gemini so logical that it blocks the good from the Universe.

This is not the 3-day phase to rain on anyone’s parade but at the same time, this is not the time for a trip to fantasyland.

All in all, this full moon is a bit bumpy but Mars the planet of action remains in trine with the Sun and is sextile to the moon.   Whatever should show up as a big or a small hurdle we have the energy to move on it or in response to it.  Mars in Gemini is very clever and versatile.    Meaning we got this one.   Just remember to tap the power of a strong self-esteem and the love of others and always, leave ego at the door.

Everyone's Direct

Everyone’s Direct Jan 22 – April 21

I indicated in my New Moon report that once Uranus turned direct all the planets will be in a forward motion for three months.   We do not always have such a nice long window of forward movement.   Each planet has its own activities and bailiwick, and they will all be puttering away with no distraction moving along the zodiac.   It could be subtle, but we may feel there is progress happening.   There will be some big movement as we indicated when Pluto moves into Aquarius in March and Saturn moves into Pisces also in March, then there will be two Aries New Moons which both put the emphasis on launching new activities and we will have one eclipse, all before the next retrograde (Mercury April 21).     Movement is afoot.   Are you picking up on the theme of change?
