Leo Full Moon: January 25, 2024 9:53am PST

Leo Full Moon

January 25, 2024

9:53 am PST

5 Leo 14

At this time of the year, we always have a full moon in the sign of Leo.   Like all full moons, the sun is in the opposite sign at the same degree.   With the Leo full moon, the sun is in Aquarius.   Great.  One plus one equals two.

However, this Leo full moon arrives shortly after Pluto began its trek in Aquarius on January 20.   Then about ten hours before the full moon, the Moon opposes Pluto.  The fact is that for the next twenty years all the new moons in Aquarius and the full moons in Leo may be potentially impacted by Pluto.   By the time we get to 2043 we will be so OVER Pluto in Aquarius influencing these lunations.   But we’re not there yet.  This is the first lunation of the journey and at 5 degrees, the full moon will have some Pluto in the mix.    What will Pluto tell Leo?

Leo is bold, bright, full of confidence, daring, strong and understand its self-worth.   Great.  Aquarius is about friends, groups, people whom we do our ‘together’ work.  Great.

In the full moon, Pluto will focus on the weaker side of Leo. It will ask:  Is ego too big?  Are actions legitimate desires or are they based on pretense?  Are we doing stuff based on pride and not the heart?   Pluto is a drill bit and if something is off in our truth solar plexus Pluto will find it.  Bragging and being fake will come at a cost.   We may hear our own inauthentic self and it could bothers us.

On this chart, Jupiter in Taurus forms a T square with the sun and the moon.  Be careful and don’t fall for the trappings of “Go big or go home” That may not be the right answer.   Remember, the sun in Aquarius knows that we must be connected to our self-worth to bring our dynamic energy to the group.  This is the work between Leo and Aquarius.   Taurus likes to hang on to stuff even if those things are obsolete.   The challenge is getting Taurus to really understand what it does or does not value.  Hanging on “just because” may not be good enough.

The open end of the T-square is Scorpio which understands the power of discretion and the power of letting something die so something new can be formed.    Maybe think a bit before big purchases.    They may or may not be based on real desire.  Also, for the three-day full moon lean into the old phase, “Leave your ego at the door” and instead get lost and drill down on your creativity.   Hiding in art is good fun.   Additionally, Saturn in Pisces is in quincunx with the moon which amplifies the power of responsibility and the deep understanding that our best actions are based on correct timing and a strong gut.  What is our intuition telling us about our timing?

Watch what comes up on this three-day phase, it may provide some insights on the Pluto Aquarius journey that is now upon us.

Uranus station direct

January 26, 2024

11:35pm PST

19 Taurus 05

Uranus spends half of every year in retrograde motion.  When it stations in the sky it looks like it is just hanging there going nowhere.  Looks can be deceiving, because when a planet is stationing that is when it is quite potent.

Once Uranus turns direct, all planets will be in direct motion until April 1 (when Mercury stations retrograde).  We will feel engines revving up for these next three new moons and all the planets in direct motion.

On this direct motion of Uranus, it is good to remember that Uranus moves through the solar system at a 98 degree angle.  Basically it looks like it is traveling on its side.  Imagine Earth's equater if it went from north pole to south pole, that's Uranus.   Uranus is also the only planet named for a Greek god, all the others are Roman.   It should be obvious that Uranus does things different.   In personal charts, when Uranus touches (by aspect) inner planets, that's where we get our weird on.   No matter how much we might want to conform, our planets who have some Uranus juju, just can't control their inner rebel.  Their drive to be different is strong.

Back in 2023, Uranus stationed retrograde on August 28.   Since then, Uranus may have messed with technology or slowed down innovation.  But now turning direct we can anticipate some movement.

Both technological disruption and novelty may offer up something that is frustrating or inspiring.  Or there may be a breakthrough that is perhaps hopeful.  Aviation, Internet, Television, Radio and technology could get our attention.  For what it’s worth, Uranus and Pluto in Aquarius also speak to UFOs.

Uranus will station direct at 19 degrees of Taurus.  Jupiter who moves fast is heading for a rendevous with Uranus.  The two of them will be joining up on April 20, 2024.  Every 14 years these two planets form a conjunction however it is a very rare event for the two of them to conjunct in Taurus.

The last time they hooked up in Taurus was May of 1941.  Many  astrologers have pointed out the quintessential earmark for that aspect was the UK navy captured a German Uboat (submarine) which had the Engima.   The Enigma was the decoding machine used by the Germans to send each other messages during WW2   This captured device then set off the UK scientists to break the code.  Classic technological Uranus.   Also noteworthy at that time was the release of the Orson Wells film "Citizen Kane".   The ingenuity of the film is legendary, go to any film school across the world and there will be a lesson on Citizen Kane.  Again, perfect Jupiter Uranus.

However, to hammer home the point that the Jupiter Uranus conjunctions in the sign Taurus do not happen often, astrologer Adam Elenbass points out that the next  conjunction before 1941 was almost a hundred years  earlier in1858.  At that time, Adam cites that Abraham Lincoln who was not yet a presidential candidate gave his "House Divided" speech which warned that a nation that is divided (half slave and half free) can not survive.  Of course, this speech telegraphed the US Civil War that would arrive two years later.   Adam then points out that the time before 1858 was the year 1181.  That conjunction went on for nearly six months and in that time there was the birth and baptismal of Francis of Assisi and there was a major Supernova which was one of only five to happen in the last thousand years.   Great research by Adam.

If you are getting the feeling that our Jupiter Uranus conjunction will probably have something big and noteworthy around it, well so am I.    In 2024, this is the final year where Uranus is ONLY in Taurus.   Next year it will ping pong in Taurus and Gemini.

Now that Uranus is heading direct we may start to see some stuff come up.

In the meantime, for those people with planets around 20 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius you know you have had to lighten up and get out of your own way.  Stubbornness for no other reason than ‘resistant to change’ will get called out.   Look to your chart to see where you may be stuck.

January 20th – A very big date

Sun conjunct Pluto 29 Capricorn 59 @5:46am PST

Sun enters Aquarius  6:07am PST

Pluto enters Aquarius 4:50pm PST

Wow.

Once a year the Sun gets on top of Pluto, but this date in 2024 is potent because this is the last time Sun and Pluto conjoin in Capricorn in our lifetime.   Between January 11th and January 20 many people may feel a drive to get some action going with their career.   It could surprise them but like salmon going up stream they are on it.  Or they will be driven to make sure that their pragmatic practices support their own personal systems and structures.  There may be a sense of ‘this could help me later.’

Watch what comes up for you between the 11th and the 20th.   How are you feeling impelled to get ‘out there’ in the world?   There is one more piece of evolution we are bearing witness and when Pluto returns to Capricorn in the fall, we may see something from right now in January become important in the fall.   This can be significant both personally and globally.

Pluto re-enters Aquarius

January 20, 4:50pm PST

October 10, 2023, Pluto stations direct (27 Capricorn 53)

Sept 3, 2024, Pluto re-enters Capricorn

Oct 11, 2024, Pluto stations direct (29 Cap 38)

Nov. 19, 2024 Pluto re-enters Aquarius

Feb 2, 2025, Pluto exits shadow (2 Aquarius 06)

2043 – Pluto exit Aquarius

The dance with Pluto continues as it ping-pongs between Aquarius and Capricorn.   Last year Pluto was in Aquarius between March 23 and June 11th, and it spent the rest of 2023 in Capricorn.   Look back to spring of 2023 to see if you had inklings as to how Pluto in Aquarius may start to shape your life.

For a bigger and global assessment, we need to take a moment and look at when Pluto began its journey in Capricorn.  I was watching it in real time and was astounded by the on-Brand Capricorn back then. Pluto entered Capricorn in January 2008, it then retrograded back into Sagittarius where it had been for about a dozen years and then on September 8th Pluto turned direct heading for Capricorn where it would be until now.  What is most important to note is that four days after Pluto stationed direct, Lehman Brothers collapsed beginning The Great Recession.  Then when Pluto re-entered Capricorn the notion of too big to fail continued with mass public dollars rescuing Wall Street along with the arrest of Bernie Madoff for embezzlement of investors’ money.   All of this speaks to Capricorn.  I point this out to illustrate that when Pluto goes back and forth between signs it usually has loud events.  Pluto sends bold calling cards indicating what it is about in the new sign.   In the case of Pluto stationing direct in October 2023 it happened five days after the Hamas terrorists’ attacks.   Will there be a call back to October around January 20th ?   Aquarius speaks to technology.  Aquarius speaks to ‘of the people’.    Those in leadership who are not doing the people’s work will be challenged.  And it will not be insignificant challenges.   Look for activity and calling cards around; Pluto’s return to Aquarius, Pluto retrograde in May, Pluto return to Capricorn in September and Pluto’s final direct motion in October.   Then once Pluto returns to Aquarius in November it will be there until 2043.    By any measure, 2024 is Pluto potent.

On a personal level anyone with planets between 29 degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn and people with planets at 0-2 degrees Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, and Scorpio are no doubt aware of change and transformation being prodded in their lives.   Pluto is evolution.  What changes are emerging?  What are your instincts telling you?

Aquarius of course speaks to finding friends and like-minded groups where we appreciate others and where we are appreciated.  Aquarius allows us to be different and out of the ordinary and through that out-of-step-ness we find others who also are out-of- step and together we do something.   Maybe we join up for a coffee and realize how much we have in common.  Or maybe we gather to do something for the community.    If you have ever been to Comicon or a Star Wars Convention or dressed up for Renaissance faire or presented public comment at a city council meeting, take all that and add steroids and you have got Pluto in Aquarius.

Also welcome to technological booms.  And sure, we are all scared of AI.  Got it.  But there may be some breakthroughs through AI.  Remember we are at the beginning of this journey.  It is impossible to know how it is all going to unfold.  The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was 1777 – 1798.  I have mentioned in previous reports that the USA constitution was formed during the 18th century Pluto in Aquarius. Along with the French Revolution cut off the heads of royalty.  Again how Aquarius.   Remember, Aquarius is the opposite of the sign of royalty, Leo.   Pedestalizing of any individual and certainly kings and titans in any community or industry will be problematic for that person.

Speaking of the USA, America is wrapping up its Pluto return this year.  Our election in November will be the final election during the time of Pluto in Capricorn.    For a nice reminder of what is going on for the American chart  Michael Lutin wrote about Pluto in Capricorn in 1776 and the birth of the USA.   The article is from 2006 but it is still fresh as the ink in John Hancock’s big signature.

Also, we will be on alert especially this year for all the inner planets aspects to Pluto now situated in Aquarius.   The first one out of the gate is Mercury conjunction Pluto on Feb 5.  See if there is anything to glean in the news and or in our personal lives around that date that speak to Pluto in its new home.  In the next lunar month of Aquarius, I have my eyes on Feb 13th when Mars forms a conjunction with Pluto.  It is explosive in nature.

2024: Capricorn New Moon. It is time to get your Cap on!

Capricorn New Moon

January 11, 2024

3:57am PST

We are entering the half way point of an extraordinary decade.   By 2026 all the outer planets will have moved into new signs from where they were in 2020 at the beginning of this decade.   In case you didn't notice 2020 was a big year and we have been dealing with a lot since it launched.    These transitions into new signs bring ups and downs.  There will be  a lot to these transitions and themes of change will begin to emerge in 2024.    While we are living our lives during this extraordinary astrological period, we benefit when we use all the gifts and opportunities that come with each new moon.

In Capricorn we find our ambition.  We consider how the systems in our life are working.   Or if they are not working?   This is the 29 day cycle to work out our goals and consider if we are where we really need to be or are we waiting for it to magically appear?    Capricorn speaks to pragmatic efforts to bring concrete results.   Got it?

Here is my full report on Margaret Wendt website.
