Sagittarius New Moon: November 30 10:21pm PST

Sagittarius New Moon

November 30

10:21pm PST

9 Sagittarius 33

Sagittarius knows how to tap the flame in all of us.   The flame of a candle can be used to light another person's candle or light another person tinder in a fireplace or it can sit in a window to remind others that someone is 'home' and maybe would welcome a friendly conversation.    Sag is the final fire sign and it is here to keep the flame going in all of us.  Some Sag new moons and 29 day lunar months are easy to tap inspiration and fire.   Others are a little more  difficult.   This one is definitely a bit more complicated but still it is important to look for inspiration.   It's half the journey.

November 19. Pluto and the New Era

Photo from NASA

Pluto in Aquarius

January 9, 2024, Pluto enters new shadow (29 Cap 38)

January 20, 2024, Pluto returns to Aquarius

Feb 1 Pluto exits old 2023 shadow (0 Aquarius 22)

May 2, 2024, Pluto stations retrograde (2 Aquarius 06)

Sept 3, 2024, Pluto re-enters Capricorn

Oct 11, 2024, Pluto stations direct (29 Cap 38)

Nov. 19, 2024, Pluto re-enters Aquarius

Feb 2, 2025, Pluto exits shadow (2 Aquarius 06)

Finally, we are here.   My gawd we have been talking about it for so long, I’m exhausted by it.   But finally, it’s here.  On November 19, Pluto will re-enter Aquarius where it will be for twenty years.

Aquarius is the power of people.  It connects to unique people, unique thinking.  It speaks to societal groups.  It is innovation, tech, electricity, power lines, computers, the internet, broadcasting, aviation, AI and social media.    Pluto is deeper, transformative aspects of life like the subconscious, hidden truths, major life changes, and of course, death and rebirth.   Pluto is a deep unseen influence.  There could be big events that speak to these topics in the news around the 19th.   If not around that date it will no doubt show up early into this 20-year cycle.

Given the USA election is so close to this date it is reasonable to suggest that it will be a significant influence in the Pluto in Aquarius story.

It is of course good to remember that the co-ruler of Aquarius is Saturn and for all its restrictions and hurdles that can piss off a lot of people, it is the planet of timing.   Given it is also turning direct in Pisces so close to the Pluto ingress one can consider divine timing may be at play.

For those people who like mundane astrology, we would be wise to watch the dates of the Pluto aspects for the next year to see if there are any patterns that speak to the new journey.

Obviously, the bulk of the aspects are the inner planets, and these happen every year.     However, two outer planets will be in the mix as well.    Saturn will have its final semi-square to Pluto on January 26 at 1Aquarius 53.   The two before were on May 6, 2024, at 2 AQ 06 and September 25 at 29 Cap 42.

Uranus will trine Pluto next year September 19 and although it does not perfect it is still an influence.   This aspect is part of a greater optimistic cycle where Uranus and Pluto trine and they form a sextile with Neptune. You will find a lot of astrologers writing and talking about this new golden era in astrology.   I will write more about it in 2025.   Here’s AstrologyKing’s take about the grand trine which he too  suggests an optimistic influence between 2025 and 2029.

Pluto. Neptune. Uranus. A Lot Going On.

We are amid big planetary action.   On November 19 Pluto enters Aquarius which at this point we are all kind of sick of talking about.   I get it.    On April 18 Neptune will enter Aries.   On July 7 Uranus will enter Gemini.

These are the three most outer planets in our solar system.   They are so far out there that their paths around the sun are huge.  They also work at different speeds.  Pluto spends anywhere between 11 and 30 years in a sign.   Neptune is in a sign for 14 years.  Uranus is in a sign for about 7 years.   Those ranges are wide so the fact that all three of them ingress into fresh new sign within six months is curious.

The outer planets are called generational planets and they connect to changes in society.   Themes will appear that line up with the sign.  For example, Uranus transition out of Pisces into Aries around the 'Arab Spring' which included a Tunisian vendor so impacted by a constricted economy that he set himself on fire.   Martyrdom signature of Pisces, fire speaks to Aries.   No surprise after cell phones hit in 2008 and one of the first actions by man with the new device was the “Selfie” that by 2013 the word 'selfie' was so commonplace it was put into Oxford dictionary.   Perfect Uranus in Aries; unrest and new technology made common.   Then, the last time Neptune was in Pisces during 1848-62, gold was discovered in California and this time (2011-2025) rare earth metals are the latest gold.   Everyone is trying to get them.   Kind of like the California Gold rush.   Pluto’s ingress into Capricorn in 2008 coincided with the stock market crash and set the world into the Grand Recession now by the end we have more consolidation of wealth than before 2008.     All of this is big stuff.     But the question to me, what does it mean to have these three planets making these fresh starts so close to one another?

I have been wanting to research for a while the last time these three planets moved into new signs within six months of each other.  Off the top of my head, I knew it had not happened in the last 100 years so when did it happen last?

I was grateful to find Brian Allaman’s article from 2023 “Past and Future Renaissance” where he did the calculations.   Based on his research the last time Pluto, Neptune and Uranus changed signs within six months of each other was 1737 and before that 1478.  I recommend you read his thoughtful analysis of themes that may return to us.  Not saying it will be a do-over, perhaps it will look different this time but still they will speak to the signs.   What is clear is that given it is about every 300 years the three do their moves together, so we are clearly in a rare process.

Adding to it, Saturn will also be leaving Pisces and heading to Aries next spring. This is not a big deal since saturn changes signs every two and half years.  But in July it will get super close to a conjunction with Neptune at zero Aries (exact Jan 2026).    Saturn and Neptune do not form conjunctions often and the last time they did it at zero Aries was not in the last 5000 years.   Not sure any computer has come up with a date earlier, perhaps those who did the cave paintings during Palaeolithic era experienced it?   Unclear.

My point is that we are in an Era of Unprecedent in our real-world affairs and in our astrological world.

I am curious about Saturn stationing direct (11/15) and connecting with Jupiter in December by square and then a third round in June.  This will be informative.  I am also wondering about the Saturn semi square with Pluto in January   We may get some insights about the future terrain with Pluto.

Pulling in the focus a little closer.   The Nodes will be shifting out of Aries and Libra in January and the final Aries eclipse will be at the end of March.   All of this Aries focus most likely is the appetizers to the main course when Saturn and Neptune begin their Aries journeys.     At the very least it is important to remember Aries seeks freedom, independence and always wants to be authentic.

I have no exact answers to all of these astro forces but if we are feeling something that seems big or unsure it could be our little bodies connecting that something is happening that is much bigger than us.    Let’s take this one beat at a time.  Be observant.  Get quiet.   Find your inner voice.   I will be doing the same thing and always take care of your emotions, body and psyche.  Don't get overwhelmed but noise.

Taurus Full Moon: November 15, 2024

November 15, 2024

Full Moon – Taurus

1:28 PM PST

24 Taurus 01

Six hours before the full moon, Saturn the planet of pragmaticism, discipline, restriction, loss and hard work, stations direct.    This sets the stage for the Taurus full moon.   But before we go to that astrological chess piece, let’s first talk down the other players.

Uranus, the planet of change is pronounced in the chart.  The sun opposes Uranus on November 16 and the Moon conjuncts Uranus two hours after the full moon perfects on the 15th.  This is an electrifying three-day full moon phase.   Uranus loves to break the rules.  It can cause a sudden event that gets everyone’s attention in an out-of-the-blue way.  Uranus does not see limits and doesn't like restrictions.  It can be radical.  It is novelty and has no fear mixing it up.    It is also electrical in nature whether it is a shock, spark or lightening bolt.  It rules new technology, computers, web, aviation and AI.   We should anticipate some event or announcement that is Uranian in nature during the full moon period.  We may have trouble sleeping and tingles could get our attention.

As for the signs, Taurus is where we find our comfort.   It is the property of our home; it is our things, especially the things that are secure and cozy.    It is also money, beauty and what we value.     Once a year we have a Taurus full moon in which the Sun in Scorpio and the Moon have a spirited mano y mano conversation.   Scorpio says to Taurus, “Hey, are your things and values actually in sync with you or are they keeping you stuck?”    And Taurus says to Scorpio, “My god, do you ever stop evolving and shapeshifting?”   Given Uranus is communicating to both moon and sun, there could be something that shakes us up about what we value and how we are valued.   Will it be a random conversation that starts as a thought (Uranus is the higher octave of mercury) which then gets us worked up such that we get off our butt and do something?   Or will it be a thought that makes us sit still, get quiet and consider our options with a new fresh focus?   Will we decide something needs to be built upon?   Or will we decide something needs to be jettisoned?  What will suddenly 'mix it up'.

Venus, the ruler of Taurus is in hard aspect with north node in Aries and south node in Libra.    The nodes are currently on a journey that asks us to consider where we need more independence and how that need connects to our relationships.   Are we giving those people important to us some space?   Are they giving space back to us?  Are we getting needed freedom?  If not, this full moon could be a trigger point.   The work of North Node in Aries has two important dates, January 11th when the nodes move into Pisces and Virgo and then the final partial eclipse on March 29 at 9 degrees Aries.    Any aspects to the nodes by the new and full moons between now and January 11 could tap where we need fresh starts.   We will have another opportunity on Aries new moon (March 29) partial eclipse.

Speaking of fresh starts, in late May, Saturn will venture into fiery Aries.   Saturn moving out of mystical Pisces and into independent Aries will be as different as night from day.   Saturn stationing direct in Pisces on this Taurus full moon is important.  Is there some type of work we need to do that connects us to faith, spirituality that will serve us later when Saturn moves into Aries?    What does it mean to feel a loss and how does it impact our values?   Or is someone giving us a burden that should not be our responsibility?  Do we need to say, “Nope.  Not mine?”   Consider how this full moon informs the needs for freedom and independence.

This full moon is the last super moon (closest to Earth) of the year.  With all that topsy-turvey Uranus energy in the mix it may be hard to feel grounded.   Luckily, six hours after the full moon, the moon forms a sextile with Neptune and then on November 18, the sun trines Neptune.   Given the disruption that comes with Uranus and the chilly coldness of Saturn, gentle aspects from Neptune may provide the needed reminders that we are all connected.   Look to see what messages come your way to remind you that you are not alone.   Psychic tune ins could also land your way.

One last note, of course, this is the final full moon before Pluto enters Aquarius on November 19.    Pluto’s long journey that started in 2008 in Capricorn is now completing.     Pluto in Aquarius connects to masses of people who want to move forward.  Perhaps this full moon will be important as we figure out our place in that new future landscape.

More to be revealed.

Full Moon – Taurus

1:28 PM PST

24 Taurus 01

Full Moon:  We make the needed adjustments on the things we planted. Usually, emotions are up and running and for those people who perhaps did not utilize the new moon and the rest of the waxing moon, this is when emotions can get the better of us. There can often be a big emotional break, for no other reason than to get back on track.   Some partnership will offer up some balance.  The moon is bright and full and there is no room for shadows, what is reflecting on you?

Focus on    To Come

Special focus

11/16: Venus square North Node.  Status quo versus a new independence.   Which value is important?

11/16: Sun opposition Uranus.  Changes that are out of the blue can energize our spirits or they can bring an instability.  How does it reflect a change that is needed?

11/18: Mercury opposition Jupiter.  Big crazy conversation that is spirited but also can be blown out of control.

11/18:Sun trine Neptune.  Faith and intuition are uplifting to our spirit.

November 15: Saturn Station Direct

Saturn Station Direct

November 15

6:20 am PST

12 Pisces 42

March 23: Saturn enters shadow

June 29:  Saturn station retrograde 19 Pisces 26

November 15: Saturn station direct 12 Pisces 42

Feb 18: Saturn exits shadow

For the last five months Saturn has been retrograde between 12 and 19 degrees of Pisces.    Since June 29 we have had an opportunity to slow down and get our timing figured out.

Pisces can be gentle, creative, empathetic and intuitive.   However, it also can be long on denial and delusion.  Pisces likes to avoid conflict and will hope and pray any challenge away.

Since it turned retrograde has anything come up that required ‘reality check’?   Were there any hard lessons that pierced illusions?  During these five months did you realize you can’t afford to be fuzzy or obtuse in some manner?

There could also have been some productive skills perhaps born from you intuition that proved to be successful.   How can you amplify those skills now that Saturn is direct?

Saturn has a lot to teach us in humanitarian and kind Pisces before it exits next May and moves into fiery, warrior, charge-that-hill Aries.  All that confidence we tap next summer will come with ease when we feel comfortable in our skin and understanding of our psyche.  That is the work of Saturn in Pisces.  Make the most of it.

Note:  For those of us with planets between 12 -29 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces we are feeling an extra grunt of hard work and some loss.   The adage, “That which does not kill me makes me stronger” comes to mind.   We are still duking it out with the universe but once this end (May 2025) we will be mentally leaner, wiser and have a very good handle on what gets our time and what does not.

Mercury Shadow & Retrograde

Mercury Retrograde

11/7:         Mercury Shadow 6 Sag 24

11/25:       Mercury station retrograde

12/15:       Mercury station direct

01/02:       Mercury exits shadow 22 Sag 40

Mercury’s final retrograde for 2024 is in loud, humorous, blunt, adventurous Sagittarius.   The last time Mercury was retrograde in Sag was December of 2017.

As always with the three week long Mercury retrograde, plan more time, do research, take a breath.  Racing is the enemy of any Mercury retrograde and more so with the fire signs like Sagittarius.

Mercury in Sag is good for trips and adventures.  It is also good for internal explorations.  Going to lectures or taking classes that expand the mind.  Mercury in Sag is about political communication and speaks to judges and judgements.    It is long in opinions and rules publications.

Mercury retrograde in Sag can bring out rhetoric and can amplify zealotry.   It can be loud on prejudices.    Strident statements, making one’s point, may feel good in the moment but could have long lasting impact.   Choose your language carefully during this three-week period.

During the retrograde take caution with traveling make sure you have got everything figured out.  Seriously have it figured out.  Purchasing a fabulous hotel on that travel website could have hidden fees you don’t learn until you check out.   Get your car checked before you head out on a long road trip.   Be sensible about travel glitches by taking the time and doing strong prep work.

Mercury retrograde can be blistering for language and thinking in every sign but when the chaos is overwhelming, and we are looking for solutions there are also opportunities in each sign.  Mercury in Sag can find opportunities by opening up to others and getting their opinion.   Even if they seem ‘different’ than us.  Sag can find philosophical calmness in spiritual or religious manners.     As the weather turns colder, Sag is the candlelight that keeps us going.   Tap that candle during the retrograde.
