Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse

14 Scorpio 58

Every sign has its own superpower and in the last two years Taurus and Scorpio have been accessing their power through new and full moons.  In November of 2021, we began the eclipse cycle of Taurus and Scorpio and the last eclipse of these two will take place on October 28.    It will not be until 2040 that we ping these two signs again through eclipses.  Taurus teaches us the power of building something from the ground up.   Scorpio teaches us the power of destruction and transformation.   While the two signs may seem opposite in temperament they work well together when they tap each other’s strength.   Taurus can’t build anything up unless it has the proper land, Scorpio knows how to clear the landscape.

Uranus is key to this full moon.  Once a year the Sun is on top of Uranus and in this case the conjunction is on May 9.   When the full moon launches at 10:34am on the 5th, the moon will be heading for its own conjunction with Uranus about six hours later.    Uranus is the great disrupter planet, and it has been traveling through Taurus since 2018 and will leave in 2026.   The last time Uranus was in Taurus was 1935-1942.   Globally we see the themes of oppression, dictators, fascism, and wars over land, like when Uranus was in Taurus before WWII.   Taurus also rules money, real estate, farming, and sustainable food.  Money crashed in the 1930s and programs were put together like Social Security, where people pay into a program, bit by bit (how Taurus) for later security.  Perhaps there will be some movement during this full moon to address the approaching debt ceiling.   In the last cycle the dust bowl wreaked havoc in this nation and disrupted the grain farms.  We have seen extreme droughts and flooding this cycle as well and there may be some potent and destructive weather during this full moon.   Uranus will be the noisy planet this three-day lunar cycle.  Things can come out of the blue, disruptions to ‘well laid plans,’ and earthquakes both literal and figurative could be felt.   The gift of Scorpio is that when it is in its most fluid state (it is a water sign) it can look at the new terrain and grab its power to accomplish whatever the task at hand demands.  The mom that lifts the car that has pinned her child speaks to Scorpio power.  Scorpio is strong in its focus.   In another context, Scorpio also understands the power of shedding something to get to fresh growth.  If anything comes up from out of the blue and rattles your cage, try your best to shake it off and look at the matters at hand, be practical (a good Taurus word) and assess how to start anew (a good Scorpio word) which could tap a fresh power.

Also playing in this full moon is Mercury in conjunction with the Sun.   On May 1stthe Sun joined Mercury who is retrograde and will still be an influence on the full moon.    Whenever Mercury is retrograde, we have an opportunity to review our thinking.   Taurus is the sign of values, so Mercury retrograde in Taurus asks us to lean in and make sure our thinking is in alignment with our current values.   For as wonderful as Taurus is with the ability to be steady as a rock.  It also can be stubborn.   It can hang on to things way past their prime.    Perhaps there are some people who value being truth tellers, “I tell it like it is”.   Okay sounds noble but what if ‘telling it like it is’ takes you down one battle after another with people whom you love or cherish.   What is that doing to you and your relationships?  Are people stepping away?  Is that what you want?  Or perhaps it is the opposite, you don’t like to rock the boat, you think peace at any cost is important, but you are going so far out of your way to please the other that your needs are forgotten.  Is that working for you?   This full moon in Scorpio may shine a light on thinking that is not in connection with your current values.  Look at any of the less than positive emotions that may come up such as jealousy, resentment, envy, rage as signposts that your thinking may benefit from an overhaul.   Getting physical may help you dislodge the powerful emotions, go for a walk, stretch, do yoga, take time to move your body.  Also use Taurus to hit pause, take a deep breath, and forgive yourself of your murky emotions.   Remember Mercury will station direct on the 14th so anything you have learned during this retrograde can start to be put into use after Mercury turns direct, with possible results that are in more alignment with your current values.

As we transition between the Taurus – Scorpio eclipses to the Aries – Libra cycle, we will benefit the most by learning the value of harnessing our emotions on this full moon.  Our emotions can be very powerful, especially when they show us where we need more work.   Scorpio can go long in depression, despair and resentment but at the same time Scorpio also understands taking those emotions and turning them into motivation and power.   In Cancer, the first water sign, we feel the power of tides that pull us out and then later push us in.   We go up and down with the waves.   In Scorpio the water is a deep river, capable of tremendous force, cutting and carving its way through the stiffest dirt.   Consider the river that built the Grand Canyon.   But when all that water is focused and harnessed you also get the Hoover Dam using that same river to create enough power to electrify cities hundreds of miles away.   Remember any emotion that comes up as an opportunity to be harnessed and build (Taurus) better results.   We will get one more shot in October and then we won’t get these Taurus Scorpio eclipse opportunities again until 2040 Take these next three days to learn how to harness our power.
