This Week In Astrology

We move out of the New Phase on the evening of the 19th.  So, if you have any more seeds you need to plant before Crescent you have most of the day to get on with it.  (Go HERE to read more about this New Moon).     Watch how you process your emotions and ask how your feelings are related to your childhood.   By processing our emotions we can clear out bad habits and begin the work that supports our AUTHENTIC self.    

Then we move into crescent and watch what comes up between 19th and early on the 24th morning/23rd evening).  Even if something seems random consider it valuable information.

On the 24th when we move into 1st quarter we return to an active state and do follow up work on those seeds we planted on New Moon.   If you sent your resume to a business on New Moon and if you learned something about the company during crescent then on 1st quarter you follow up with a phone call to the company or to an influential friends.  It is all about taking the energy of the moon and working with it.  Not against it.  Also on the 24th Venus turns retrograde for five weeks.  See separate post.

The following day on the 25 Mars and Uranus get into a fight.  Let's all make sure we aren't the boxers.    Get out of the way of anyone throwing verbal or physical punches.    And then on the 26 Uranus turns retrograde.   (see separate post).   Just a cuckoo weekend.

Focus on:  What are your learning about mistakes?  What are you learning about perfection?  What are you learning about missing the mark on something?  What are you learning about taking care of daily business?  What are you learning about health and hygiene?   What are you learning about your diet?

7/21: Sun/Saturn:  Emotions feel support, restructuring purpose. 

7/22: Mercury/Saturn.  Calm, measured thinking.  Figuring out answers to any question and solutions.

7/23: Sun/Mercury: Bright ideas, creative thinking, inspired conversation and thinking.

Focus on:  What actions can you take that are black and white?  How will these actions help you cut out the riff-raff?  Where are you hanging out in the grey neither committing to black or white but now you need to make the commitment?   What actions can you take that support authentic emotions?

7/25: Mars/Uranus.  Sparks will fly.  Cars will swerve.  Swords will be raised.   Where will you be?   Good question.   Watch the impulsivity and warriors.

Treasure Map Check In

Let’s get through a couple pieces of business before we get into the nuts and bolts of Cancer New Moon.    Back in April during Aries New Moon we launched our Treasure Maps.    We cut and pasted and wrote and searched and printed and painted and did what ever we could to put our goals for the New Year on a poster board (or cyber page).    We set our goals and intentions.   We dreamed big.   Now on Cancer New Moon we look at our Treasure Maps and we take a moment to assess.   What results have occurred that speak to our goals?   Acknowledge the movement.  Perhaps you will say a prayer of gratitude and thanks to your maker.    If you look at your map and feel the need to clarify some points, take the first few days of Cancer New Moon to add (or remove) items on your map. Perhaps you need to add a few words or a photo just for clarification.   And if it seems to you that your goals have not sprung green sprouts as of yet, take a breath, thank your map for being there and pray for patience and trust.   Remember we have nine more months.  Let’s see what comes up.   And be grateful you have your map to remind you of your goals.

Cancer The First Water Sign

Cancer is the first water sign of the zodiac and puts our emotions and our feelings out front.   We have wrapped up Gemini that spoke to our brain and our mental wiring.  Now we are focused on the emotions that rise up in us when we are confronted with anything pleasant or unpleasant.     Cancer is similar to the water in the ocean.  At times it is small waves lapping up on the shore at other times it is powerful large waves pounding the coast.   Same water molecules but totally different heights and force.   The trick with Cancer is figuring out a way to process those emotions.   Sometimes they flood all over the place and sometimes they are a trickle.   But if we process and perhaps harness the emotions we can accomplish a lot.   However, here is what does NOT work with Cancer energy—denying our emotions.    The emotions are there to send a message to us.   Denying them is a waste of time and misguided.    What is more important is to feel the emotions and with this particular Cancer New Moon chart it is to use those emotions to get us to a new ‘spot’.

This Cancer New Moon chart has a number of highlights.   The Sun and Moon trine Saturn and the Sun/Moon square Uranus.  Mars and Mercury are also in a wide conjunction with the Sun and Moon.   This is a lot of action for the second cardinal and the first water sign.    The key word for this Cancer cycle is:  MOVEMENT.  But that movement is based on roots.   Huh?  How can something that is rooted be capable of moving?    Ah, good question and we will rub up against the answer(s) all 29 days.     Let’s get started. 

Big Ol’ Happy Baby

There is a TV commercial that whenever it comes on I stop and have to watch it.  The commercial is silly. It shows a giant baby in a parking spot, on a drive way and in a parking lot.   We see a man spraying the baby with a hose, or racing to protect it when a shopping cart bumps into it.   This giant baby is supposed to be the man’s car.  He doesn’t see the car; instead, he sees the car as a baby.   It is a silly commercial for I think auto insurance.  I am confused about the product because I’m stuck on the smiling big baby who is quite compelling.  It is impossible to not smile when you see this big happy baby.

So, why on god’s green earth am I writing about a big ol’ happy baby on Cancer New Moon?    Because that image is important to the root of Cancer.   ....there is a lot more....please... go to link for whole article.  

This Week ...okie dokie....

Happy last week of Gemini lunar phase.   This has been the longest 29 days I can remember.  Do you remember the Gemini New Moon launching on June 16th?  Does it feel like a million days ago?   Good then you have been paying attention to this cuckoo Gemini energy.   We have been OUT there for sure.    The wrap up is beginning today.    You may even wake up and feel the  unwinding.    

Weird tensions are brought up by the Sun/Uranus square on the 12th.   If you were feeling off your game, stuck, perhaps disappointed for the last week blame Uranus/Pluto opposition early last week and Sun/Uranus square today.    Evolution versus revolution.    For the last five years the tension between Uranus and Pluto has been plowing through our psyches stirring everything up.    Their battle ended in March, thank God.   However, we get to revisit the parts of our psyche that still need processing.  That thing we wish we could heal and change.    THAT thing has probably been up in the last week.    Thanks to The Sun banging Pluto and then a few days later (today) banging Uranus.       Ask for spirit to support you to make the changes you need to make to heal the bumps and begin your  journey on a new (Aries) road.   Be gentle on your self.  

The week has a few other bumps, including Venus/Saturn (7/13) which demands focus on money and love.   Things that don't work will get our attention.   We are sober about love and money.      Mars opposition Pluto (7/13) brings out tension.  That is an understatement.   Emotions flowing hit cold realism.   Tellanovellas will not be tolerated.

Balsamic:   We let go.  By releasing we can prepare for the new. 

Focus on We release our flakiness.  We release our non-committal-ness. We release our shallowness.    We release our lies.  

Special focus:

7/12:  Sun square Uranus: Changes abound but they feel tough.   Doing new things that bring out drive.   Take care not to be reckless.

7/13: Mercury trine Neptune:  Dreaminess.  Inspired thinking.  Melting mental knots.  

7/13: Venus square Saturn:   Cold love.  Chilling values.  Money and Love feel on the outs.   Drama versus real power are at odds.  

7/15: Mars oppose Pluto:  Actions that access real power.   Evolution pushes actions.  

7/15: Mercury semi square Venus:   Thinking overly colored by emotions. Fear of showing strength. 

This Week

I apologize for not getting this up yesterday...I wanted to do a shout out for the annual Pluto/Sun opposition that took place on 7/6.   Did insecurity come up and bite anyone in the butt?  Or did some of you find empowerment?    Perhaps even in a strange way?     Never underestimate the power of Pluto to go rummage in the basement and pull up either a brand new resource or a pitiful insecurity.  The emphasis of this dance is between home (Cancer) and how we are in the world or business (Cap)  Either way, process and just keep swimming, just keep swimming... 

We continue to be in Disseminating phase of the Gemini lunar cycle. 

Focus on:  How are you sharing your community?  How are members of your community of ‘like-minded’ supporting you?  And how are you sharing that support with others?   How are others sharing their community with you?  What practical support are you learning?   How is technology supporting you?  How are you sharing technology with others?  

Special focus:

7/6:  Sun oppose Pluto.  Once a year aspect.   Family vs Career.  Out in the world or hiding at home.  Are you emotionally satisfied by your position in the world?   Is your home life completely satisfying? 

7/8:  Mercury in Cancer

Last Quarter Moon Phase

Last Quarter moon:  Now we do the final adjustments to the seeds we planted on new. The final call, the final letters to send, we follow all the trails that came up that still make sense.  And we let the other parts lay fallow. It is a time of action but wise action.  It is a time for living  “The serenity prayer”

Focus on:

What actions are you taking that speak to you being independent?  What actions can you take break into new territory?  What actions can you take that speak to your self identity?
